Rep Power: 0 The rods on the D17's are pretty much Ideantical to the D16 rods...save that they are a few millimeters longer and are forged steel..they are in fact stronger...what does the guy burning a hole in his ( I could only assume pistons) have to do with rod failure?
Okay..burning a piston is caused by shitty rods?..
And my grandma is old because she reads the bible... neither makes sense..nor do you most of the time.....finding one guys post..who obviously doesn't seem to be the most technically educated person and using it as gospel only proves that you really really don't know much and your just constantly passing second hand info on from people who do know what they are talking about..
This would explain all the terms and "tricks" you post and the fact that you've never backed up any of why those tricks work with a reasonable technical answer.....

I still stand by what I said. a little birdie at King motorsports has stated the rods they've tested from the D17 engines can withstand several hundred horsepower when shotpeened. Aluminum forged rods would be *somewhat* stronger, but unnecessary overkill.

As of right now though, he doesn't have all that done. And why would he just **** away money like that? I mean he just bought 10.5:1 pistons... but now he just bought 11:1 pistons.... and he thinks he's gonna run some 150-200 shot of nitrous on that compression? ha. not even with race gas.

Rep Power: 0 i didnt have time to run the my shop tongiht. i had to spen time with my girl. tommrow i will get pics of the block and rods. they will be up. the pistons i bought the first time turrned out to not be the gratest. so i sold them back to this guy and now i bought brand new ones with 11:1 ratio. also the old pistons had a dome head. witch is bad for motors that run high shots.. so i bought these arias ones with a dish head to achieve a better fuel nitrous mixture. . i went out and bought a new camera for this the other one was facked up. i know how to work this one and u will see the block tommorw. along with the rods. and as of the money u said u were gonna give me. you can keep it i dont want your money. everyone keeps saying put it on a dyno... well the motor will not run to its full potential untill prolly the end of jan so later it i iwll ahve a dyno. this take a long time and a lot of money and will not happen over night. esp when i am basicly the first one to do this. i am out for the night so i will post tommorw with the pics.
