Here I am;
A 360 degree turn with 4-5 flip overs on a sub urban hiway between Quebec City and Valcartier's Military Base. (Autoroute Henri IV( HWY-73)) Heading South.
A stupid Dodge Caravan driver was driving like if he was drunk, shooting me snow, water and mud all over the windshield, there was enought **** in front of me I could'nt even see where I was going with wippers at full speed. My car was bearing left a bit, wich let me to drive in the mud and the back of the car began to slip, I was driving it at about 100-110km/h (60-65mp/h). The car first slipped right at about 45 degrees, then left for about 180 degrees and back right for over 200 degrees to push me on the left side of the road and start the flips.
I was so afraid that I tought it was the end, I would be hitting something so hard it would kill me, or the roof would colapse and crush me down into the seat breaking my neck. I holded to the steering wheel so hard that now I have some muscular elongations in the back, and arms. When the first or second flip appened, all windows broke except the driver's one. Why ? I dont know, but I think it's because the head rest was properly set for my tall or high enought the roof would stop colapsing at that height. Then I closed my eyes, thinking about that horrible situation, 1 or 2 seconds later, the car was fulled with snow. I could feel it pushing me against my seat. I stopped breathing cause i knew I could'nt if I would. 1 sec. later. everything was over. I cleared my head with my hands, and could breath again. I looked for the door handle and opened it, some snow falled down on the ground and I saw a man (military) running at me : -You all right ? -Yeah I think so.
He was the guy driving behind me. Another guy came right after that helping me getting out of the car, then a police woman who was going on another call in the oposite direction saw me flip too and stoped. Let me tell you I was on the worst shake you can ever have. The police girl saw that I had a bleeding cut on the head and helped me with that. One minute or so after, a provincial policeman came and took the situation in hand. I started looking for my cell phone and my wallet. The other tow mils where grouping my spare clothes and parade uniforms, boots, rack sac and everything that I had in the car and trunk.
To comfort everybody, NO, my son wasn't with me, I was driving to my parent's house to pick him up. He wouldnt have been able to make it. I was the only person in there.
I went to the hospital for X-rays and everything and I'm fine.
So this is my big story. I hope no one of you will have to live this like I did.
Thank you everyone of you for your support and kindness.
Thanks to Honda who makes cars wich save lives. I'd put a 10 stars instead of 5 :-)
I dont know if the car is a total rip off yet, neither if I'll buy another Civic. The 2003 EX-V6 Accord is interesting at the moment. I'll keep you posted for that.
TY.

Thank god u r fine, the same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago, but with out the flip and i was going slower, so i eneded up in a ditch and nothing happened.
damn winter snow, it is too dangerous to drive on the highway that fast in this kinda weather, but u were only going the speed limit anyways. time for insurance to pay of.

Glad you're all right!
...and a FYI for everyone. The 7thgen Civic 2D and 4D scored a 4/5 stars in roll-over resistance by the NHTSA. IIHS ranks the car only marginal in head restraint during a collision.

Airbags do not deploy in rollovers- they are useless, read your SRS booklet that came with your car for more info.

Don't worry about the tires, they are not Firestones, I had last year's new Toyo Observe X10 with more than 75% thread remaining on them.
Glad you okay man, hopefully insurance would get everything fixed (and maybe more).
I busted my own 02civic like about 4 months ago, and bought only this april!! insurance paid 10500 for all damages to just the passenger side.

hell this is a lot of money...
My insurances have a special clause in the contract wich briefly is :
If the total amount required to fix the car is equal or more than half of the price paid at the dealer, the car is considered ripped off.
I bought mine for 23K$CDN Dec. 28th 2000.
The garage owner where the car stays until monday said there is for at least 10K$ damage on it...
maybe I'll get a entire new car for free... :-)

hey bro dont sweat it, we are glad you are ok be thankful you are ok. I was in a wreck were this guy hit me running a light. head on collision, his ford medicar van his my small protege. Almost killed us man. now i am making a claim with my lawyer, and i have been through 2 surguries on my hand (gotta 2 inch scar on my left hand), months of phys therapy, and visits to the ear doctor. It coulda been worse, but luckily i told my girl to put her seat belt on a 5 minutes before we got to the intersection. love every day that you live, and live it to the fullest.
WOW not much body damage just the roof mostly and the windows. WOW good thing you had tint or things could have been worse like when my mom didn't have tint on her window she got cut bad. Yeah my mom had one window that didn't blow out either so kind of weird. Glad to hear you are OK but doesn't look like fun. Hope everything comes out OK with the insurance.

Damm man, im glad to hear your ok though, but you best go see some specialists to make sure there is no long term damage.
I am not sure, about repairing the car, the costs to fix mine after the roll was about $10,000 CDN, and the insurance fixed it. By the pics most of the damage looks like its the roof and pillars, so they *might* be able to fix it, I am not sure, but if the car went over 4 or 5 time then there could be some frame damage. When I rolled it was only a half roll, so it went over on its side then on its roof, and that was at a speed of about 40 Km/h.
Good Luck man, and keep us posted.

P.S. - I HATE snow too.

if insurance doesnt say the car is totaled and you end up fixing it...chop the roof.

Glad to hear you are okay and were able to walk away from this.
Don't worry about the car, its just a car and obviously was a damn fine one at that. But it can be replaced, you can't.
Good luck with everything. I am sure it will all work out.
