de Everyone on this site that claims they have a 7th G. Si is full of ****!

I laughed when I saw how many people that belong to this site claim to have a 2001 Civic Automatic Si Coupe. How stupid and misguided you are! Here's what you do. Hit your friend that told you have a Si. Then hit yourself for believing your friend and not checking it out for yourself. Why is it not possible for you to have a 7th G. Si? Several reasons. One, the ONLY years they made a Civic Si Coupe was 1999-2000 and the body style was NOT 7th G. it was 6th G. They never made a 7th G. Si Coupe, only the new hatch. Two, you cannot get the Si in automatic only manual. Three, the "stock" wheels some of you are sportin' are not the Si wheels. Last but not least look at the engine code for your engine. This is the ultimate way to tell. The Si engine has two codes: B16A (prior to 7th G.) and K20A (the newest Si engine). If your engine code (clearly stamped right behind the radiator on the engine block itself) doesn't have either of these you don't have an Si. Chances are most of you have an EX SOHC VTEC engine and most of you will see a D17Y8 engine code or even a D16. Like I said hit you're friend for convincing you have a Si. Hope I didn't burst anyone's bubble.

Wow, you know an amazing amount about the USDM Civic production. Unfortunately, you fail to realize that the internet extends beyond US boundaries... where there is, in fact, a 7th gen Si coupe. Keep in mind, there are only EX's in the US... everywhere else, the EX model is the Si. And the 6th and 7th gen Si's would be SiR's. So, all of the Canadians, etc. on the board here with "EX" coupes have Si's.

How stupid and misguided you are, n00b.

In Canada you can get a 2001 coupe and it's called an SI. If you check the location of the members, they are all from Canada. There are a lot of Candadian members on this site.

damn this is the funniest thing i have read on this site. to be soooo confident with ur own stupidity is just beyond belief. damn i guess u should really get schooled like everyone said if u were smart enough to realize that in canada the ex (american) is called the si (canada) and also just to giv u a bit more information the si(american) is the sir (canada) so the only person that should be smacked is you and whoever told u about there being no 7th gen si's.

Yes, TheYesMan will be heard from again.

I read quickly through your responses and can see where I should have clarified my initial writing/thread/post whatever it's called. Lets see if I can remember all of your comments.

1. Yes I know that in Canada the USDM Si with the b16a is called the SiR. My friend Ben has one from when he used to be stationed up in Alaska.

2. Yes if we wish to get extremely technical then the USDM Si engine code is K20A2 and K20A3 depending on which model Si or RSX and year you purchase. For that matter then previous generation B series motors are only B16A1 and B16A2. Have heard rumor of an A3 but don't believe it.

3. The Si (EX) in Canada...by American definition that is still an EX not an Si. Si means to everyone DOHC VTEC, B-series motor. Although now you can get a K series Si (which most Honda Techs' would agree is a major disappointment) the golden B16A (followed by a number for those who are picky) is what defines a true Si. Although I have failed to mention the even harder to find delSol VTEC which is the missing link for that 96-98 MIA period for the Si. So I guess there is one exception.

There I think I covered all your replies.

LOL

I laugh at the last comment from 2k2civicRay. Appearantly I'm a dumbass because I know my Honda's fairly well. You've managed to attempt to insult me plus mock the in depth research of Sport Compact, Car and Driver and many other highly acclaimed magazines that realize it's crucial to know the finite details of a vehicle esp. when your readers are the type of people like myself that need to know what seperates their car (esp. the engine) apart from all others and previous generations for proper future modification purposes.

Have you anything better to say than cheap, meaningless insults I've already addressed? Seriously, this thread is beginning to be childish. I am a "newbie" to this site, yes. I hope that the majority of this site's members do not act this way. You make this entire site look bad. Try HondaLife.com. Awesome site for all civic lovers of every generation and talk about guys that know they're stuff!

How is me pointing out that you had no arguement from the beginning childish? i said" you had no arguement because no one claimed to have aUSDM SI 7th gen" and you cant admit youre completely wrong. people likr you that come in makeing false statements from poor judgements make this site look bad, and its memebers angry. thats why there is slander in some posts tward you. i backed up everything i said with facts, and have the resources to prove they are legit. Being that i am an OEM honda supplier, i have access to Hondas network of tech layouts etc. i have no beef with you,, just want to set the record straight with facts, i never post unless i know somethings true

This post goes out to MugenRacerX,

The SiR my friend owns is a real SiR because of very minute differences between the USDM Si and the CDM SiR. For example the SiR has a rear defroster which I wish my Si ha. Secondly not all Si's were SOHC prior to '99. But you are right in that some Si's were only SOHC. But I think the first DOHC Si was the ZC engine Si. While she isn't VTEC it's still awesome motor.

Why would I need tech' diagrams for?

On another note. "COOL!" I've never seen an A3 before. Only heard of it. Are there any differences between the A2 and A3? If so, what? And since I've learned quite quickly that there seems to be mainly Canadian members here, is the A3 Canadian only based?

Dude YesMan, you just need to take ur foot and stick it in your mouth. You were wrong and it was said in the comment from Vtec01Ex immediately. Next time maybe you should research before you open your mouth. We dont care if you are a newbie. Just dont act like you are god bc no one knows everything, but it sure as hell seems like you think you do.

I've got no problem with that. I thought I clarified it on the first page but perhaps not. There is an Si coupe in Canada. It's a not B series. But none the less it is considered an Si in Canada. Now that I've done that tell me about that A3.

Aren't you glad I have a subcription to Sport Compact Car and happen to have old issuses stashed away in the corner of my closet for some odd reason. According to the Dec 00 issue there are only 4 engines that have A3 anywhere in the engine code.

3rd Gen Accord (88-89) A20A3 122hp
94-97 DelSol B16A3 158hp
1st Gen Integra (88-89) D16A3 118hp
3rd Gen Prelude (90-91) B20A3 104hp

So there you go there is no A3 series engine. These engines are the only ones that have A3 anywhere in the engine code and they happen to be in the suffix of it. I hope this cleared up your question.

Someone should have quoted his "unedited" post.

Anyway, the topic is getting out of control a bit. TheYesMan was proven wrong...enough. I fear that it's going to get locked...
