To answer everyone right now, i have searched already about this. My car got messed up this weekend, and i most likely will need a new hood due to the creasing and dents, and well insurance is good for it. Screw fixing it.
SO that brings up what kind of hood i should get. I do not want a hood scoop. Something OEM type. I was thinking Fiber Images or DG, or as a last resort DKNW.
I know that Pedrito had problems with his hood from DG flying off. After seeing that i would most definately use the hood pins and have no problem doing it.
SO that brings in what one would you use and which one will mount up the best to OEM. IE hooks and nozzle washers.
Please give me all your thoughts i would apreciate it.
ALSO ANY PICTURES Would be great. and what is the best price you can find for any of the hoods.

Sometimes I think you should be hit in the head with a ballpean hammer. How in the world would you consider that insurance fraud? The only feesable way it could be considered fraud was if he had no damage to the hood and was falsely making a claim.

grey has one from fiberimages, it looks pretty good from all the pictures he had. i would highly recommend it (plus, his didn't fly off either...)

and i don't see how this is insurance fraud, my hood was dammaged beyond repair, the shop (certified with allstate) SAID i can bring whatever hood i want to them, and the insurance will cover the price for the factory hood, which was less than the factory hood. so i actually got money BACK

Here's the deal. Zaskar asked a simple question about what was the best carbon fiber hood. ok, so you werent the cause of the hood getting messed up. its still wrong to use insurance money in that manner (getting aftermarket stuff with insurance money, which is meant to be used to fix your car).

Humm back to topic. Not to divert this thread more then it already is but......... Does anybod know if there is a ram air or reverse flow hood out there for our cars. Sorry your hood got screwed Zaskar hope you are able to find a replacement you like. Ohh to your question I am yet to see a CF hood that I was impressed but the fit of, espically after it's been on for a while. I know there are a lot of Fiberglass hoods out there for v-8s espically the mid 60's Chevys you might want to take a look at an onlie catalog for them to get manufactures names and then go from there to see if the same manufactures make FG or CF hoods for our cars. I am new to the import sence and have found there are a lot of fly by night hack companys whose products look and fit like s*%t and don't back up their products. In the world of v-8 RWD a company like that would last about 3 months. Any who enough ranting from me. Good luck and have a great day all.
