yuo will get a ticket, in the US, DOT appoved lights must have red lenses.. red bulbs are not good enough. you may get away with it, but not legal. this is why you cant find new all clear tails anymore
Hey let us know when they'll be done....!!! It's interesting to see OEM parts modified....good idea!!!but here is the point...you won't have red deflector....be carefull!!!!!
Original mod!!!

EDIT : hey did the APC plastic cover fit well?

i know i have some stuff in mind i was think about spraying a light coat of red on the lense so it will be legal but only where the brake light is and the rest will be clear. and i have to mold a reflector in there i have already got it figured out it was a pain in the a$$ to do it is 110 times harder than clearing out you headlights i think.but that is just my opinion i think i am the first in the site with clear tailights.

yes....please put in red led lights, not just red bulbs, they look pink and really stupid....
and as far as it being legal, you MUST have a red reflector in there, the reason for this is if for some reason your lights go out, or you dont have em on and its dark another car must be able to see that reflector when they're lights shine in them....understand?

it should look better with, a light coat of red on the lenses, and LEDs will definitly make it look more like a break light, Im not sure if they make the 7443 series leds yet however. Definitly post som pics when your done though, im curious about how this turns out.

I think you should have made them look like the EDM Civic's tail....

those look good.
Mex has 'em on his ride... I can't find the pic that he had... cuz it looks very good in his pic... that pic above is so-so
here's another one:

Looks unique yeah I had all clear tails on my 88 civic and loved them had them for over a yr and finally got pulled over for them when I moved to Phoenix. Yeah even with red bulbs u need a red reflector over the white reflector. SO I just stuck some cheapy red tape over the clear reflector and never had anymore problems. But still it looked tacky after that so I just went back to OEM. Sucks all clear taillights are illegal. But cool MOD
