why is it since you live in Florida your insurance covers it? is there any state where an insurance company wouldn't cover it?

Windshield replacement all depends on what coverage you have. There may be a deductable. Usually this falls under your comprehensive coverage. Some glass places will replace and not charge the deductable. It all depends on your policy. In some states if your car is financed youu must have certain minimum coverage. Best way to find out is to read your policy and/or call your insurance agent.

Because in Florida it is illegal to drive with a cracked windshield , so all insurance companies cover the front windshield as a comprehensive claim and waive all deductibles, no premiums or higher rates...Other states will cover it if its repairable with no charge, but if u have to replace the whole windshield u may be charged a deductible, in other states outside of Florida, .............usually they can fix it if it's smaller than a dollar bill.
