How do you guys do it so fast?
Some of you guys have some really nice rides, but I just have to wonder.... How did you get it all done so fast? The 7th Gen has only been out for about 2 years and already you've got rims, body kits, exhaust, springs, and other goodies all loaded onto a $17000 brand new car. Which means some of you are probably driving around in $23000 Civics. So what's the deal? Did you get a Civic with the intention of doing this, knowing you had the money? Are you jacking trucks full of DVD players? Sponsored? Is mommy and daddy paying for the car so you just have to pay for the mods? At the rate I'm going, I'll have everything done that I want to get done in about 4-5 years, That includes paying off the car itself completely. I'm not knocking on anyone, but I'm just wondering what the mentality is. Thanks.

It's called credit, saving, finding good deals on e-bay etc.. etc..
Also tax refunds (wheels)
A job helps.....
The problem is once you get started, you cant stop!!!! It's like a disease man!!
It takes time bro!
I got mine in Feb 01, click on the link to my ride, as you can see, I dont have that much!
Good luck dude!

haha ya i feel ya man, im in the military and i got mad bills, so.... well i volunteered to come to Saudi Arabia for 6 months. Saudi is tax free over here, so we pay no taxes (only medicare and something else, no biggy) we also get extra pays, like hazardous duty and what not. so i am close to doubling my paycheck while im here, then we get a little extra when we get back to the states (which will be right before the new year but after christmas for me) but i got most my shyt waiting for me when i get home now wheels, halo's,suspension, intake, and exhaust. doing this all while paying for the car and not even able to use it. but SOME of us have to make sacrifices to get our shyt, unlike some of the spoiled 2k1 and 2 owners. Sorry so long.
seriously man you have to know where and when to shop, all these kids go out and by from all these speed shops pay top dollar for even small shizit, look online many places have good deals and you can prob get it shipped to your house for even half the price you would pay for it at a store down the street. ohh yeah how did you know about the truck full of dvd players

my dad bought me the car, its paid for. But how do i have rims and springs and stuff when im college student that doesnt make any money?? Simple, all summer i havent bought anything out of the ordinary and just saved all my money. Then i have it all to spend on the car. I've put about 3500 in the car already.
Since I use the car as an "advertisement" for my business, the business loan payed for it. Not to mention the free stuff I get from the distributors.
its easy .. i've had my car since feb 2001 but sa soon as me and my gf broke up this feb 2002 .... cha ching xtra money all went towards my new baby. i've spent close to 9000 on mods and stereo since then. but nobody else has a car like mine so it really stands out. i get asked all the time what kind of car it is or if its so new style car. its great. all show no go .. its kinda like the celica comercial .... I pay for my car monthly plus insurance, and still have little bit of money to play with so im comfortable. Im only 19, s I cant wait till the real life starts and i make big money.

yup i work hard for the money and i dedicate alot of it to my car...i pay bills, rent, food, but my parents did help me pay half for my car when i bought it so i don't have to make car payments which is really cool of my parents.
i got my car as a HS graduation present - it cost about 1/3 of the money my parents had originally intended to use on my college. however, i have a full scholarship, so they let me get a car.
Credit cards rule
Get now.. pay later!
Only thing is that you shoulden't put anything except things you can pay off asap on a high APR card. Also, dont get a little too far away from zero. Make sensible payments (not the minimum) and you will establish good credit and get all the stuff you want
Wheels first, everthing else later!

well im actually 17 years old and i pay for my car by myself w/ out my parents and i have purchased all my mods w/ my own money and stuff....i am just about done w/ her except for my custom paintjob which im already saving for and preparing to do this winter...i spent a lot of money in a year...it is addiciting as well once you pop the fun dont stop man....
I totally agree with you. I just bought my 2k2 EX Sedan (still 35 more payments), and all I think of are the mods and aftermarket parts I want to get for it. I've already spent over $2Ks on it, so now I'm planning on spending $300 per month at a time. That means it's going to take me about a year to be able to get all the mods I want. The good thing is that by then, I hope there will be even more options to choose from. Good luck with your modding!
I pay for everything my self, and rent where i live, thats why i dont have much, i had a nice stereo system in my old car, so when i bought the new civic i sold all of that for a good down payment on the new stereo system I still owe 400$ to my discount tire credit card for my rims & tires. I bought them when they had a six month same as cash deal going on so i dont pay anything in intrest
right now i am saving for my bodykit
right now i am saving for my bodykit Sometimes, I can see right through myself ...

I don't know how you guys do it either. I'm bringing in about $2000/mo between 2 jobs and I really don't have a lot of cash to play with. Between car payments, insurance, CC bills, rent, cell phone, other misc bills, I can't afford to do anything to my car. The only thing that was really done was a stereo installed and I've had that stereo for 2 years sitting in a closet before I bought my car. Other than that and altezzas, nothing done to it. It's just too damned expensive.

Well.. How did I do it.. O yea! Insurance paid for my hood, kit, paint, and emblem. I bought the car on Feb 8 and a piece fell off a truck and hit my car the following week. I did a lot of DIY's. I used to be an installer at Circuit City, so I got the best deals through them. (Accomodations RULE!!) Also A lot of good shopping. Overall, I've spent $2k
Insurance.. good..
Insurance.. good..
