Finally got some rims. :)
So yeah, I finally bought some rims. Still working to pay them off though. I have till my next credit card payment (the 5th of next month) to make $951.36. I'm more than half way there, so it shouldn't be a problem. I love j00 credit card! They're 17" Rota Attacks with 215/45/17 Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's. The footprint is much wider than stock and they fill out the wheel well more than stock. Plus they have a bigger offset (45), so they stick out more than stock. If you lock at them from the top of the wheel well you can't see them, but if you peek out just a little they come out. I think it's the perfect size. Each wheel and tire weighs 39lbs, so not too shabby on weight. I just have the front ones on right now. I will receive the rear ones tomorrow. Can't wait to test it out. yay for Grey! I'm gonna guess you're waiting for the second pair to be installed before you show us an overall pic of your car, unless you're going for that ghetto 'steelies on the front' look for a week.
I've got 215/45R17s too. I may go to 215/40s after I lower it, but I'll see how it looks first.
Can't wait for an overall pic.

Yeah, I meant the wheel and the tire. The word rim actually refers to the outside lip of the wheel. You know, like polished rim. Tralalalala... Anyway, the wheel weighs 15.5lbs. The tire weighs 23.5lbs. Funny, the tire weighs more than the wheel. I wish I could get lighter tires. These were the best bang for the buck though.
I can get volks for 900.00 all 4 w/o tires. Prob. another 200.00 for the tires mounted and balanced. So around 1,200.00 for everything. I'd rather pay the xtra 200.00 and get the real deal instead of some knockoffs. Just my opinion though.

Try $900 for the volks. Then $25 for the lug nuts and the center caps. Then $75 for the mounting and balancing. Then $350 for the wheels. Then about $75 shipping. Total would be $1425. Find an online package price lower than this and you'll prove your point. Hence, prove me wrong. Best price I found was $1495.

Yah... thats prob. retail price, i was more thinkn about hookup prices. but still, 1425 aint too bad for Volks in 17".

I put some new pics up. I did a test drive too. They're a little noisier than before, but traction and cornering stability are up and up. I'm very happy with them. The wheel and tire are almost 1/4 inch larger in diameter from stock. That means that my speedometer will be off, but not by much. It's a good thing for when I lower the car though. I think that is what I will be doing next. Camber kit and lowering. Don't know what I'll use yet though...
Edit: Whoops! Measured wrong.

I'm not exactly sure? If I had the money I would go with an airbag over shock setup. That would cost me at least as much as the wheels, so I couldn't do that for a while. A cheap way to do it would be to just buy springs and cut the shocks and re-thread them. The ride quality shouldn't suffer too much, but it's not ideal. A full coilover is a little cheaper than an airbag setup, but it would still take me a while before I had the cash to buy a set. Coilovers and new shocks is another way to go, although it's almost the same price as a full coilover, so I'de rather get that. Although maybe if Tokico comes out with their shocks this route will be cheaper.
I don't want to regret a purchase and have to sell it and buy something else. I'de rather get it righ the first time. I think I'm just going to save up for the airbags and get those. I really don't like the idea of lowering a car because of the problems with speed bumps and driveways. IMO the best way to lower a car is with airbags. Yeah, that is the route I will take. It might take me longer to get the cash to make this happen, but once I do the results should be great. I'm sorry Grey but......
.... those rims (to me) just don't look right on your car
But in the end it's your car, and if you're happy then

Hefe: Well, looks-wise they're not the prettiest things out there. Weight-wise they're pretty darn light. Espcially for the price. If I was going purely for looks I'de get some 18" ADR's (the new ones they got out). They're too heavy though. Plus they cost more than these. It was a tough choice. I'm pretty happy with my new wheels and tires though.
pleasejoe: Don't want to clear 'cause cleared headlights are troublesome to get done right. Plus they are kinda "played out" like you said. I might be gettin' projectors later. Maybe the concept civic look? We'll see...
