Hey everyone new to the forum, at 40 years old i bought my first used Honda Civic, I always wanted one as a kid but was never able to get one. It is a 2008 2-Door Honda Civic Coupe with a manual transmission, it is silver and I am looking to customize the interior and exterior with purple accents and a Transformers Decepticon theme as well as tune the engine, struts, exhaust system, wheels, tires and more.
I am looking forward to meet people on here and hopefully meet up with local Arizona Civic enthusiasts and talk tuning customization and seeing what everyone is running!
Welcome. That’s quite the plan. I’m interested to see how it turns out.
What are your plans with the engine?
I am still looking into the engine, looking to keep it all street legal here in Arizona but get as much power out of it as I can within reason as it currently will be my daily driver.
Any suggestions?
I’m not too familiar with the R18’s, but I understand they aren’t great engines to modify.
Knowing this, I’d also double-check that the recall was performed regarding the longblock. The blocks were prone to cracking and leaking coolant and the recall is no longer valid.
If you want my honest opinion (even though it kinda ***** on your plan), depending on how much power you want to make (over 250hp), I’d start with a different car. If you're keen on that body style, the Si is an awesome step-up.

Yeah that is probably true I am just getting into the research but if it is not worth it I will save and look for something new first and build off that.
