Just joined the forum and looking forward to being pretty active! Just picked up this 99' SI for a good $1500, needs a ton of work, does run great with only a few ignition issues. This is my first personal build, limited on cash since its my second car and only 20 years old. So far it needs a new door+glass, and a ton of paint work, cleaning, and regular maintenance.
Picked it up not knowing exactly what all kind of mods that are done, hopefully you guys can help me out by pointing things out that I may not know. Plan to rebuild this car over time with replacement quality parts, and without making a true ricer. Plan to get it back into perfect show fit and finish before persuing any more performance mods.
Mods (only the ones I can visually see)
-AEM CAI
-DC Sport 4-1 Ceramic Headers (Rusty and bent from bumping curbs)
-Apexi WS2 Exhaust
-Skunk2 Intake Manifold (so says the infamous stickers)
-Drop-zone adjustable coilovers (terribly cheap)
-Skunk2 Short Shifter
-Stage 2 Clutch? (claims the guy I bought it from)
-Replica Mugen MF10s (what they seem to be)
-jdm yellow fog lights (probably just cheap aftermarket)
Any opinions on what should be done? Any parts I didnt name?
More pictures coming soon, dont be afraid to hate on it! I take it as constructive critisism, I didnt mod this car or responsible for the shape, im just here to get her back into worthy shape!

Think the Valve cover was repainted at one time, and the last repaint wasnt very heat resistant so its just flaking away now. Im have the hardest problem deciding on what to do with the rims, get new ones, or re-spray them, and if I do, im unsure on the color, possibly back to fresh bronze?

Wow, are those wheels gold? They look black. lol. Yellow fogs are a nice complement to the wheels. Outside looks clean except for the door. Engine cover looks horrible. If it runs good it doesn't look like a bad deal. If you use the sunroof, I would recommend a visor as the airflow is better and it blends pretty good with the black paint. Keep with the updates.

Those definitely look like circuit 8's, I quick search shows their only $130 new though. It'd be tough to get new rims for the used value of those.

Clean it up give it a tune up, and change the oil. Get the body work done (and valve cover resprayed) and it looks like you have a nice project Wheels look decent, remove the dumb stickers and probably the guage pod too as mentioned before. Lol and where did the shift **** go? Nice buy though

Those are not the mugen mf10 reps they look like the circuit 8s from rota but there are others that make them to so who knows unless you look. And not bad for 1500 at least you really didnt get ripped off. She can be fixed up and running for a hole lot less than what she is worth.

It looks like a really good find. how many miles does it have? theres def some potential there, especially with how little you spent on it.

Thats prolly the big downfall of it is the miles 173k on her, but amazingly runs exceptionally well despite the looks, no smoke, no raddles, no bad signs of anything, transmission shifts smooth with no bumps or grinds. Picked up a door yesterday from the junkyard off a 00' for $150 which included the glass, window motor, mirror and everything. Just put a new axle in, and did all of the usual maintenance, oil, filter, and plugs, raised the whole car up an inch too. So shes making progress, pics soon as I can stop being lazy and buy batteries for my camera!
