i got some 16" vsr rims today.
their pretty nice rims.
200$ for all four pretty nice shape.
problem is i got rid of my 18s cuz they rubbed with low pros
now these 16's with 205/55/16 rub.
what tires do i need to stop em from rubbing?? pleasee help!
is there anything else i can do to stop rubbing?
or should i drop another rim size??

Re: just got new rims helpp?!?
well you obviously have your car lowered, because theres no way in hell those tires should rub on your car. thats way more than enough room if you have a stock suspension setup.
give more details as to what youre using....springs, coilovers, brands, drop heights, etc etc.

Why are you staggered on a FWD car..?
But to the OP, more info would be nice.

Re: just got new rims helpp?!?
...no he doesnt. that would look completely retarded. 205/45/16s are like 1.5 inches SMALLER than stock tires. those are too small.
yeabmx, as for your suspension being stock, you must have a serious issue because your 205/55/r16 should not rub on stock suspension. 205/55/16 are less than 1/4 inch bigger in radius than stock 185/65/r15s. you shouldnt even come close to having an issue, youre basically at stock wheel size right now. how and where exactly are they rubbing? you need to take a picture because that size tire should fit stock suspension with about 3-4 inches of wheel well gap.

Re: just got new rims helpp?!?
Your oem tire size was a 185/65-14, according to tires.com..
The closest match to overall OEM diameter would be a 205/45-16..
You might wanna check the condition of your suspension.. Even with the larger tire you shouldn't have that bad of rubbing issues

I think the rides smoother part is just a placebo effect, but to each his own..
Re: just got new rims helpp?!?
To the OP I don't think your have tire rub. You have something else wrong with the suspension... I'm having some noises in the rear end too but it's definitely not from rubbing, but it sounds a lot like it. Get your suspension looked at.
^Wow that sounds wrong.

Re: just got new rims helpp?!?
Ive ran 19's with 215/35/19 on my 2001 sedan lowered on tein coilovers, and rubbed in the back till i had the rear panels rolled a bit. Its been perfect since. I think you might have suspension problems like previously stated! Theres no reason why you should be rubbing with stock suspension!

Re: just got new rims helpp?!?
You either have a problem with your suspension or it may be the wheels themselves. (offset or width issues) I'm running 18x7 with a 215/35/18 and Lexani 1.5" springs with no issues.
Re: just got new rims helpp?!?
yea i had 18 215/35/18 too and thoes rubbed also, same noise and everything.
it doesnt do it when i have 14s on, so i know its not just suspension noise, its definitely hitting somewhere.
