So yeah 12 hrs later and everything is installed. NO problems which is a good job on my part. Had to spend 35$ in extra parts so far. Car has been started and idles perfect. only problem NO boost? boo
Tommrow after work I just have to: get some clamps, get a socket to take off oil sensor (anyone know the size for a civic), maybe a o2 sensor, and to figure out why im not making boost!
oh and a little pipe made for exhaust! :tu:
I also plan to clean it up a bit.dont mind all the wires, its the boost gauge and some other wires i had laying in it!
Thank you AznChinksta for this kit!

Enjoy
I will have more pictures when I find my digi cam charger I think I left it in NC.

Looks like a Greddy or a Greddy knock off.
What are you running for injectors? What's your plan to run a filter to that turbo?
Do yourself a favor and get some T-bolt clamps from www.siliconeintakes.com - you won't ever have a problem with the charge pipes if you do.
Congrats on going boost!!!
.....and see you in the T.E.A.R.S. thread!

Re: Maple50175 Turbo Build Thread *pics*
Ummm......at the OP, just reread your first post........don't run the car without the oil feed to the turbo hooked up. Unless you want to buy a new turbo, anyway. You do know that you won't make boost in neutral no matter how high you rev the engine, right? The engine needs load to build boost.
I can't remember, but I think the oil pressure sensor is a 23mm, but I'm not sure. That bitch is in there tight though so you'd best keep your receipt and make sure you get the right one. My advice, is buy a few - from 23mm up - and either return the ones you don't need, or just keep them because you'll need them at some point anyway.

****, take the oil filter off and grab a set of pliers. Unscrew that son of a bitch. PS> You can use NPT 1/8th instead of a BSPT 1/8th thread. Just be careful not to overtighten. I've done it many a time and had no problems with stripping yet
Re: Maple50175 Turbo Build Thread *pics*
got that T.E.A.R.S. number yet??
one thing at a time man...are you leaking all the time? fix those first, esp if it's oil or coolant. clint's right about the boosting though...you have to rev it to hell to build any boost while stationary, and you don't get much at that point either.. maybe 4 lbs...
what do you mean your emanage is going crazy? we need a little more info like do you have a basemap loaded, what are you doing for fuel (injectors/pump/return setup/etc), what are your jumper and rotary switch settings?

umm ... ok my advice is if u have leaks and wat not .. DO U HAVE AN AFR WIDEBAND?? sorry for the caps lol its that important. since emanange is going crazy mayb u shouldn't boost man if u don't have an afr so u don't blow HGs .. be patient, get it done right and trust me .. . ull enjoy it

well the braided hose the coolant has a hole in it. I cant find a single one online, and they go for like 100, NOT what i wanna pay.
But yeah its boosting now and works good!
Id made me smile. My emanage blinks red..... but when im not moving it blinks twice... yeah I think the kid who i got the kit from has his basemap on there.
I have RSX type S injectors that i cant figure how to put in so I have it pushed in with some carboard or something, ill take a picture but its NOT leaking and works fine?
I have a narroband gauge but it doesnt help, I plan to get the AEM wideband when I can find someone to buy my wheels.

AEM wideband will come soon, just need 250 for it.. Im still waiting for the kid to send me the emanage cd's and wire. a shop wants to charge 150/hr for tunning.

PayPal me $50 and I will assign one to you.
What size is the line? -6AN? 3/8"? If it's 3/8" line, here is a 6-foot length for $17 from Uncle Summit:
Uncle Summit's Spectre SS Line
But it probably has AN compression fittings on it (I hope) so it might be -6AN. Here is a $25 6-foot length, also from Uncle Summit:
Uncle Summit's -6AN SS line
You know this is wrong, fix it. You need to run an additional spacer on the fuel because the injectors are longer. Other than that, they fit just like stock. Don't use cardboard.

Hey man thanks for your help! I just got outta work and I LOVE BOV! LOL!
How do I figure what size the line is!? not really sure but thats cheap so now im not that worried. I need to figure it out tommrow and order one! yeah its got the metal fitting on it that you turn as seen in the picture.
I don't get what you mean by spacers I got washers but I can't even get the nut on the peice. I will take a picture of what im talking about. it doesnt like work? But How I have it now is not leaking and YES i need this fixed. I need pictures. Please show me I'm a picture guy.
But wow, my car pulls, I need this kid to send me the emanage cds and get this tune on the road!
How do you fix a boost gauge!? I have an autometer and like it just stays in vaccum, and never goes past 0 boost. can someone fix this for me!?
After I get the exhaust done tommrow and these 2 problems fixed. I need to figure out about the 02 simulator since emanage is throwing a code it blinks twice which is the second 02 i believe?
Now should I keep my CAT on my exhaust or take it off? Please let me know asap!

I'll get at this later today. But you have to replace the fuel rail spacer stud with a longer one or a bolt.
Get me a better picture of that coolant line and put a sharpie or Bic pen or something common next to it for size comparison when you take the picture.

If you don't ever have to worry about emissions, then dump the cat. Don't know about the blinky codes for e-mangle, so I can't help you there.
What AFRs is your car seeing under boost? If you don't know, stop driving in boost until you either get it tuned or buy a wideband.
In regards to your boost gauge, you need to test it. Get a bike pump or an air compressor and hit the line that attaches to the gauge with some air and see if it registers on your gauge. If it doesn't, then buy a new gauge. If it does, then make sure you haven't kinked the line somewhere.
And like I said, you can't fit the rail on the stock studs because the injectors are too long now. You need to replace the studs with something longer and then you can ditch the cardboard. Please do this first because when you're driving it (and ignoring my, "don't drive in boost yet" advice) you run the risk of the rail popping off, spraying fuel everywhere but into the intake where it needs to go, detonating the inside of the motor and catching the outside of the motor on fire. Seriously, this is not safe.

Okay SO i went to an exahust place they want to charge me 165$ for a pipe about 24 inches with 2 flanges and told me it MUST have a flex fitting on it which is why its so much.
ughh 165$ is so much for a TINY little section. dammit .
i need that hose bad. overheats so I wonteven drive it till that is fixed.
Uploading pictures now, please tell me if everything looks okay
also what can I use to clean the fins of the turbo?

thank god, cause he's cruising for a blown motor...
to Maple, did you read ANY of the FI FAQs before attempting this yourself? and you need the flex pipe so you don't break something since you motor does move around in the bay a bit. you don't have solid mounts so the weakest link is gonna be the first to go.

Re: Maple50175 Turbo Build Thread *pics*
i know d17 engines are hard to find enough room to put a turbo in but i had a problem with the rsx injectors maxxing out under boost i went with the srt 4 neon injectors they are more than enough to use if u do decide to go with those make sure you get the clips and for the boost not working is ur actuator on ur turbo set correctly and all vacuum lines are they all hooked up correctly all i had to do for the studs on the fuel rail is take vice grips the studs are long so use 2 nuts and unscrew the stud out far enough to have the rail fit correctly
Re: Maple50175 Turbo Build Thread *pics*
little update: I have gotten new studs/bolts for the fuel rail I just hope they are long enough :-/ Ill be madd if there not!!! But yeah car is still running good, I just am fixing the intercooler piping after i eat and flipping the intercooler since I had it in the wrong way. Then I will be putting bumper on.
Then I gotta wait a few days for the coolant hose to come in from summit with fittings, and yeah!
Gotta get the exhaust done next week when I have money as well as the AEM wideband.
Once I have these 2 things worked out I should be ready to get it tunned! (I hope)
