Just got primer, 13 pics of my car + 2 of my friends ride.
The first couple of pictures are what I've been doing to my car to get it ready, and the rest are when I got my car back from the paint shop yesterday. they shot a quart of primer in 2 coats of grey Kustom shop DTM Epoxy primer. No front bumper yet, I'm going to do that last. I'm also going to get all new moldings and plastic pieces and mirrors, headlights taillights, trunk hood, whatever, everything.
You can still see some splotchy areas under the primer, because the body filler soaked it up. I think I'm going to take it back again in a little while, when I get more money, and have them shoot a couple layers of the 2k urethane, to fill in the scratches and pinholes and stuff. Then just keep sanding it down till it's super slick mirror finish bitches! HA HA! YAY I can't wait to keep going.
You can also see a cross hatch kinda deal going on, on the roof. I'm guessing that's just the spray pattern the painter used when going over it.
Check:

primer pics:

my buddies car, we shaved the lines on the sides of the car. Then he took a spray can primer to it, I told him he shouldn't do that, but he did anyways!
oh well, it looks pretty good.

I haven't really decided yet, I'm leaning towards a dark silver/charcoal color, I like how any color goes with it, so I can match any color wheels or interior etc. What kind of sides do you have?
Re: Just got primer, 13 pics of my car + 2 of my friends ride.
id say go with like a custom blue or a burnt orange color. Burnt orange would be bad *** and match almost any interior/wheel color.

The custom blue is an idea that interests me. maybe something like this:
It's called galaxy blue

Ha ha, either that, or root beer color.

^I've got the Tein Basic dampers. They can go lower, but I raised them a bit when I moved here, roads are different.

i vote for the root beer brown. there was an eg hatch in honda tuning a while back painted a similar shade with copper-plated valve cover, strut bar, and other odds and ends....very nice....i'll have to look up the issue.
edit: it's the July 2007 issue.....can't seem to find any links to it online though...
edit x2: found a couple pics, though the lighting isn't great, you get the idea...and i was mistaken about the copper accents...

Yeah I'd like to see that.
I would be thinking like root beer, with white TE37s that would be cool. There's this other pic I saw on honda tech which was kinda similar...let me find it.

that's pretty close in color, according to the article it's House of Kolor Kandy Root Beer. since it's a candy finish, you already know the color changes with the light...i imagine from a deep brown to almost a goldish color in the right light....just like an A&W float.

yeah it used to be red, it also used to be blue/purple annnnd it used to be black, and it's life began as night hawk black pearl.... so yeah there's a long history to my car, but this is the last time I'm going to mess with it, I want to choose a color that I'm going to stick with.
Oh and by the way, Maaco is fine for certian things, but with just a little extra money you can go to a local shop that'll give you way better results.
I had a bad experience with Maaco, and before this thread turns into a Maaco bashing thread, I'll sum it up, I took my first car to maaco to get painted, and they painted it the wrong color.

The root beer looks a little dark. Hm, I wonder what that would look like in the sunlight.
