Ok. So here it is. Inspired by only the best... My turbo install thread.
im leaving for chicago next weekend, so being i work 55 hours a week on avg, i need to do this, this weekend... damn impatient new yorkers,,
Now here in mobile, al all this weekend is a big concerty type thing in the streets of downtown, called bayfest. and well, i want to see alice n chains and velvet revolver and ludacris and luckily thats all im having to go to concidering my gfriend drools daughtry or however u sepll his ****ing name.... so... that only leaves my with all day saturday (which i miss a few other bands i like, but oh ****ing well, im goin boosted bitchez!) to do the install (and sunday for catastrophies/street tuning) so i can get to work monday morning at 8. lol....
So anyway.. i will be posting updates here and hopefully get some pics up for you guys as i go through stuff saturday. I want to write up a DIY for the Apexi AVC-R Boost controller, as i havent found much on those here for our setups, poaaibly some more info on setting up the greddy e-manage blue and well, id like to contribute to this wonderfull community as well ....
Feel free to ask any questions, or just chat about nothing... hah. i wanna be coo like the foos'
So this is what i got so far... luckily, becasue of rain.. my friend (thanks Lee)is allowing me to use his couch and most of all, his garage, this weekend for this install . I have managed to get all of my garage over to his place yesterday so after work and before bayfest im going to go over there to start rippin my bolt ons off. Dont forget to check out my sales posting of all the **** (headers, intake, downpipe, AFC2, etc...) im selling .

Not saying it isnt possible, because it definitely is. Just make sure you dont rush through it and take your time making sure its right the first time.
Other than that, good luck with everything and let us know how it turns out.

i did my turbo install start to finish with the help of 2 friends in 6 hours the first time around. It only took 2 of us an hour the second time around since all the electronics and FMIC were still in the car, but I guess it's cheating since we're all mechanics

Well, not to stick my own foot in my mouth, which i should.. but im pretty mechanically inclined, so as far as putting it all together shouldnt be that bad. I got an oil sandwich plate, so oil shouldn't be a problem. Golden eagle vacuum block, so thats g2g... really i mean the hardest part is going to be electronics. and im leaving all the tweaking for sunday.
I have my AFC2 hooked up to the bish right now, so im going to have to re-soldier all my wires back together to stock, so i dont **** that part up with the emanage, then re-do them when i splice the AVC-R in the mix. Prob going to just hook up the emange first and then the boost controller after i get just the base setup working properly in case i will have to diagnose something. having that crazy *** OS apexi has on that thing will make it hard to track down problems if its residing in the AVC. Im sensing the gauges and **** are going to be pretty time consuming as well... im a computer programmer/network administrator, so im electrically inclinded as well
beyond the actual setup. i think im more or less worried if the engine is going to hold up more than a week boostin... its got 150+k miles and ive been pretty tough on it since i got it at 115k. im going to do the studs and cometic HG switch from stocks here soon, but not this weekend (thanks clint)... i also plan on doing a port and polish on a small bored out head with titanium retainers and SSteel springs, bigger throttle body and prob go with a d16 intake runner. After im done with all that, prob go from my current (in theory lol) 5.8psi to around 8-9. Save a little money and then do a forged piston and machining job done to the deck, block guard, etc. Then i can crank the boost. looking around 14-16, then should be g2g.
so yeah, thats the timeline. now whether or not it will hold up until its all said and done...
until then.....

Looks good Nick! Hit me in PM or email if you need anything from me.
Don't worry about the fuel pump thing. It's a piece of cake. Just hold your cigarette in your off hand while pulling the pump out. Nah, seriously, that was one of the easiest parts of my install.
Hey, what's that DC bar for pictured next to the Ingall's?
But like everyone else said, take your time and doublecheck everything. No sense turning this into a rushed $4000 mistake.
By the way, I did pulls at 9 psi today......WEEEEEE!!!!!!

1 night might be pushing it.....but its possible. i started mine at 3pm and finished at 4am. then drove it home. but i already had my electronics in the car. the mechanical part took the longest. i spent 2 hours cutting and trimming my bumper and it still isnt right.

Why do I feel like I need to hose myself off now.....<shudders>
Don't worry about the Ingalls, it'll fit an '01. The ABS module will be close, but if you loosen up the mounting bracket, install the stiffy, and then tighten it back down, you should be fine.
