Re: my ride in black out progress

looks nice but there is one thing that I just cant stand (and its on just about everyones car with aftermarket tint, not just yours). I hate when the tint shop goes around the 3rd brake light to save time by not pulling off the rear deck. its not so bad with a light tint, but when you get something nice and dark like this, that one spot sticks out like a sore thumb

Re: my ride in black out progress

when i went back to the shop, to pick the car up when i saw that, i was pretty disspointed. I asked the guy why he does that, and hes like, inspection wouldnt pass if the tint was covering that light. And i'm like, it wont pass anyway with the front tinted and he said that you could take them off, without having to take every window tint off or something like that.

but yeah I don't like how it looks either but o well doesn't bother me that much anymore. The rims i am looking at are either motegi FF7s, Riax Socos, or maybe drag dr11. I don't know yet, i wanna get nice wheels, but also don't want to spend a fortune. Size 17".

someone else also mentioned head lights. Yes i want the dual halos with black housing.

Re: my ride in black out progress

but also, he didnt do it because he had to take it apart. There is 1/4 inch gap between the light and the rear windshield. So he didnt have to cut around, he couldve done it...if i was in the shop since begining i wouldve told him. but o well

Re: my ride in black out progress

Thats the Rs kit corrrrrect, it looks clean? Get some Time attack Gram Lights(16 inches), and black out ur headlights. Its nice start. So you repainted it NHBP, and the original color was maroon. Does that mean that your interior is Tan?

Re: my ride in black out progress

that looks just like my car right now, exactly, except for I have the visors (makes the windows not looks as large) and it is getting a drop within the next two weeks, projectors, gauges faces and such. Want me to post before and after to give you an idea of what direction you might or might not want to go? This place has helped me so much I am all about giving back to a fellow NHBP ES. Still havnt decided on the rims or lip for mine though. We can swap ideas if you want, get at me. rep for you.

ryox82: yeah post some pics of your ride. I def want the visors, but i am looking for the mugen style ones with an indent in them. It looks nice, but i will go with jdm ones if i have too.

Re: my ride in black out progress

cops don't pull you over for tints. They can't just like they can't pull you over for using your phone and other little things. But if they do pull you over for traffic violation they might give you a ticket, or say something about the tints. I have lots of friends who have the tints in town and out of town and have no problems so far with them. I will put lighter tint in front if i get bothered by cops

The FF7's are pretty nice for what they are worth. They will go good with the other black accents of the car...

Also just as a suggestion I wouldn't go dual halos because that might be too much for such a simple style.. IMO. Other than that look like a great start.

Re: my ride in black out progress

yeah the ff7's are pretty sweet becaues of their simplicity. I wouldn't get the dual halos, if my left headlamp wasnt a little foggy, and if they were cleared out (no camber). or blacked out like in the pic above..is that your civic texascivic?if it is then let me know where i can find more pics, looks real sweet...

but you really cant go wrong with black housing lights for a black car

i dont know whos car that is, but thats a perfect job.

Re: my ride in black out progress

It looks really good. I can't wait to see it with the rims. I think the stock headlights painted black would look really good on your car, I'm not too fond of the halo lights.

I love the stock painted black lights, but i wouldn't risk doing it myself. It would be easier for me to just get the halos. Isnt it hard to seal the headlight correctly so it doesnt fog up?

Re: my ride in black out progress

i wish i could buy the tint for rear lights, but they dont make them for 4drs and you gotta paint them permenantly. But only thing that your civic lacks is some for of body work. It's slammed tho, so it would be tough riding with a lip kit, altough if you get the one i have, it doesnt really make my car any lower, except of the sideskirts. How did you black out ur headlights? paint them or bought them?
