I have 20% all around, and wouldn't want darker b/c of night driving.
As a "general" rule, if police can shine a flashlight into your car and see through the tint you should be ok. I live in a cop infested area, and haven't been pulled over (for the tint
) yet.

Yeah...I don't think 5% is hard to see out of at night either....I mean how much do you back up at night anyway???? You can always roll side windows down...

Rep Power: 243 I have 20% all the way around, except on the windshield and it looks HOT....whats sucks is I have to take it off before I go home for the summer because I need to get my car inspected and in Rhode Island, tinting is ILLEGAL....sucks ***** if you ask me
Seriously youre guys's inspections are crazy, IL we have them but they only test your car for emissions (if that).
they see if your CEL works (start car, makes sure it goes on then turns back off)
then does a gas cap sniffer thingy
hell i dont even have to do emissions cause the county i live in doesnt require it

MY STATEMENT wasn't even directed towards only you, it was directed towards everyone, everyone bitches about 20% being dark at night. Maybe you guys just went to the wrong place, because i've seen 5% that is very easy to see out of from the inside but still dark outside.

Rep Power: 248 You get a tint measurer! I asked a cop to use to his. (Obviously a friend cop, not an ******* cop) Basically you put one end on the outside, one end on the inside. Then you push the button and it shoots out a little light. The reader knows how bright the light is that it is sending out. Then the part on the inside measures how much light it is actually getting. In my case, the inside was only receiving 19%-21% of the light that was being transmitted. So that is how you know!

Rep Power: 327 well.. i HAD 5% all-around. but that crao got me a total of 5 tickets. i took it off after a GeorgiaStatePatrolman did a u-turn on I-20 to give me a window ticket!=gay! i got one in my Ex's Jetta for 5% and now my GF's G35 has tint on windshield, and i have had luck thus far!with 20% on sides and 35% on front
