well in the short run, i'm looking for a jdm conversion then repaint it white or a magnesium gray.

then probably tsx hid retrofit

then long term

build the gsr block then head with hondata s300

i'm shooting for 200whp - 240whp

Funny that you sold your car to get a 10 year older car but I kinda want to do the same thing. If I could find a nice 98+ GSR with leather I'd prolly make the switch..

i traded in my 01 s10 for a 96 ls that i recently did a b20 swap in. only reason for the swap was a bad b18b. now that i have a spare i am starting to build it for boost. i am shooting for 500+whp. i want a 10 sec car, badly. so the vic gets paid off in april and then i double payments on the teg to get it paid. once both are paid (like a year) my wifes gets a new car and i take the vic for the DD and strip the teg for a cage and drop in the motor i am building with boost

well part of the reason i sold my car was due to some family finanical problems due to some health issues. The civic was the only asset i owned that had any kind of equity.

Second, my gsr handles better stock then my 7th gen did with tein basics and rsx front and rear sway bars.

I bought a car with both front and rear disk brakes, better handling and a faster engine for $5000.

I did the math and i figured this was a better choice. Only thing i had left on my 7th gen was to do a kswap.

I like building up cars anyways, i already swaped out the interior carpet with new carpet, rsx front leather seats and gsr rear leather. I still want to build my B. I would be happy at just 200whp.

nice car, you probably mean LS. Integra's didn't have a lx, but yeah i heard ls vtec can be pretty nice. I hope your buddy doesn't rev that thing past 7500rpm though without building the block first.

Did he get a b16 tranny too?

that was my whole reasoning in buying the teg as well. i had 2 slow cars and couldnt stand it anymore. i was originally looking for an EG hatch but couldnt find one at the price i wanted so i opted for a newer teg. with the b20 swap alone this thing will torch my vic. that was my deciding factor not to do anymore performance mods and to de-mod the vic and concentrate on the teg.

yeah everyone wants a eg now. i remember a few yrs ago, no one wanted a hatch. Then again, the stripped eg with a b18 has be done a lot. I think the teg is a better all around car with the stiffer chassis. Whose doing the engine work for your teg?

I'm probably going to start by building my block after i finish my jdm conversion.

Nice, but u better have lo jack on that thing if youre gonna put all that stuff into it. I wanted to get a teggy but those things are just so easy to steal its not even worth to own one. It sucks that theres so many thieves out here!!!

any car can be stolen.. all it takes is a flat bed. Lo jack is only good for finding your car after they stripped it. I did the basics though..alarm, cut off switch.

I'm probably going to start by building my block after i finish my jdm conversion.
i am going to have darton assemble the bottom end (pauter rods, cp pistons, arp studs and bolts, darton sleeves) then i will take over from there. i just want everything balanced before install.

i want to run you now though. i havent had a chance to line up with a gsr yet. i think i should be right with you if not a little behind in the top end. but bottome end grunt is my specialty. i embaressed a late 90's volvo turbo the other day. i was spinning through 1st and into 2nd and finally caught traction in the top on 2nd and left in the dust. i still want to install the LS cams but i dont know if i want to bother since i am building the LS block. i actually want to do a vtec head on the b20 then eventually after the LS is done swap the head over after some work and drop her in. i just know its going to be a while before the built motor is done and ready to drop in and i really want 200whp N/A lightly modded motor to play with as well

tegs rule. i wasnt fortunate enough to pick one up in good shape. i think you saw my thread. its pretty sorry. i pulled the b18a the other day and sold the bottom end for 3 bills, turned around that afternoon and picked up a b18b with head minus rods and pistons for 150. im gonna sleeve it to 84mm so i can have a b20 stamped b18b. im doin a b16 head with turbo and nitrous. im shootin for well over 600whp. im havin a2z balance and assemble my bottom end and im shootin for excess of 9k revs. if i make 700whp ill be happy. i had a built gsr 2.0 go almost 800whp boosted with spray.

not sying i dont believe but they are rare to see that high of figures with out a few sponsors. its expensive to get them that high!!

i say 500whp conservatively.

i am doing the same build up--b18b sleeved to 84mm bore with stock cryo'd crank, pauter rods and cp pistons with built b16a head, cams, Im, the hole bit. but why list so many parts if i am not that close yet.

Nice. I had a '00 LS Sedan. It was a sweet ride until I had to trade it in for my '01 Civic EX. I guess that's kind of downgrading even though the Civic was newer and a manual.

yup. it is expensive. what else you gonna spend money on after the bills are paid? let it sit in a bank? dont think so. ive got good buddies at the machine shop so that helps a lot. i should be 700whp by the end of 2007. it took 2 years to save and build my 2.0 gsr to make almost 800. ive got a b20 layin in the garage i thought about building but i want my block stamped b18. i might build the b20 next year if it isnt locked up or i dont sell it for this build. im not going to spent 1 red cent on anything but the motor until its done. then ill start with my cage and interior.

tell me about it, i have a laundry list of bills every month. from orthodontists, to cheerleading, to 2 car payments, ins., Mtg, taxes......

its never ending. i have the 01 vic and my teg. i am about to purchase a 07 r6 though. wifey doesnt want that but what i do with money i earn is my choice. as long as the bills are paid she shouldnt concern herself, especially since she gets to keep her check for herself. i just have a lot of projects going on. including cabinetry form the kitchen, trying to relandscape the yards and just finished a bunh of other stuff..

sometimes i wish i was single. i cant imagine the toys i would have right now. but i wouldnt change it my situation for the world. there is nothing like coming home to my little girls and wife.

i had 7 project cars and 2 trucks i was building last year. i started to redo my lawn which i never finished. i need to paint my house. sometimes i wish i was 17 or 18 again. im trying to get rid of all my previous projects and parts cars to fund this build. i dont want to put any "worked for" money in it. ive got motots out the *** and ive never going to use them. ive got a fresh b20 sittin in a totalled crv i was going to do an awd hatch with. one of those never finished deals.

i'll run if you want. But my car has 163,000 miles on it, so its probably lost a lot of compression over the years. I debating whether i should use seafoam to raise the compression or not. I've heard good and bad about it.

i can hook up whatever i want to it. Laptop, dvd player, ps3. But why would i waste $600-3000 on a laptop when i can just built a desktop for $300. I had a lot of miscellous comp parts sitting in my room and i bought the 250gb for $89 after rebate. I'm probably going to install gps, wireless later.
