Hey everyone,

I'm looking into getting a 2004 or 2005 Civic and I was hoping to get some help on a few things.

I really would like keyless entry. I was looking at this parts website and it had keyless entry kits but apparently not for 2004-2005. I think it said that you couldn't just get the remotes and they would work. So I was thinking of buying one that already had keyless entry.

On the other hand, I really want to put in a different stereo, specifically with an Aux in, for an mp3 player. If I get a car with keyless entry, can I still put in an aftermarket stereo? I got the impression that the keyless entry interacts with the factory radio.

Any other suggestions about what I else I should look for would be welcome!

keyless entry won't affect your radio, given you install everything correctly.
and don't all civics minus the dx come with keyless entry?

Thats funny you should say that. I was looking a trim levels on a research site and it said that the LX and EX do indeed come with keyless entry standard. But looking at used cars on Autotrader, almost none of the LX and EX models have keyless as a feature. Can someone clarify this?

All LX and EX models should have keyless entry. They probably just failed to mention that the cars come with it since it's something that isn't uncommon on cars now.

ive got an 05 lx and it has keyless entry. i thought just about every car with power locks had keyless entry.
