*update* White LED interior conversion, done (more pics, 56K lol)
Got it. See, I went the other way. I changed my console to red, and now I've got to change my IC to red also.
You're running an '01-'02 IC, right? It's real easy to make those things white. Just take it apart and take out the actual piece of plastic that has the gauge face printed on it, and rub the orange filter off the back with acetone. Put some little slips of card stock over the bulbs to help diffuse them better.
It may help you decide if you want that look or not, even though it's still the old cluster.

It's actually pretty hard to **** up. The whole assembly just snaps apart, there's no cutting or anything. I seriously doubt you could mess it up unless you're COMPLETELY mechanically incompetent.
it's not plug and play....bc u have to sodder ****....but its not hard at all.....here's a walkthrough

Yeah, their method isn't that great. That's what we mean by the "plug and play." Using factory lighting locations.
To get a good effect, you need to put an array of LEDs in series behind the plate.

hmm i have installed the LED's from LEDAutomotive. Very helpful and informative instructions, but they seem a bit too dim for my liking.
and the white doesnt look white, but i guess "LED white" is not white anyways

i used their method for everything(except the speedo) and have no problems with dim spots or anything and im almost 100% sure thats what dustin did with his

anyways...good job

wow so theres no way i can respond to everyones post, but thanks! i can make a write up i guess, but i have no pics of what was done. if someone has pics of their cluster (01-03) pm them to me and it will be alot easier. i did it all with 25 LEDs. now if you want the gauges brighter then you can put more (gearbox used 40 or so).
main info: bought 50 off ebay, did everything myself by super gluing the LEDs in the perfect angle on to the plastic and then soldering together and visa-versa. and the bulbs are sanded :P they are 50,000 MCD

Yeah, it works, I'm not saying it doesn't. But you get an even brighter, more even effect with an array. It's a hell of a lot more work, but worth it IMO. Gear did it in his car, I'm gonna do it in mine when I have the time.

Both of you are right. Russ is right because I used that guide for my red interior. But the LEDs weren't too bright. They were only 1500MCd I think. But then with the white ones, they are plenty. In the HVAC part, each **** has four LEDs wired in a series (+ -- +-- + -- + -- with no resistor because it equals up to 14.4v) and the bottom three buttons have one with a 510ohm resistor.

i was doing a write up but its too confusing if you have no idea what to do with the LEDs. i wrote half and had someone read it and they said they didnt understand it at all. so if anyone has any pics of the cluster opened and apart send them to me so i can make this easier.
