Radar Detector
I finally got around to hardwiring my radar detector(even though I don't speed) I just like to know where the popo's are. Anyways, while I was putting my pillar back on my drivers side, 2 of the damn clips broke. I couldn't figure out what the hell it was at first, it just felt like it was snagging on a wire. It just wouldn't sit right. I threw a pretty intense anger fit, and at the end of it, this is what had happened.

LOL ahhh man not on a civic......any thing but duct tape. I would get it off the soft material of the headliner soon before it leaves sticky crap behind. Go to a junk yard and pull one if possible.

I've heard that cops aim for your license plate, so the closer to it your detecter is the more effective it is. I personally have mine on the dash, and have never had a problem. I wired a cigarette lighter in the slot under the deck so I could have my mute button on the smart cord closer for easy access, It's the best setup IMO. On my old car I did a hardwire when I had a cheaper radar that didn't have a mute button though, but it was still on the dash.

Higher is better for radar reception, lower is better for laser reception. Just make sure it can "see" out the back window if it has rear reception also.
I have mine clipped to the underside of my passenger visor and the wire run thru the passenger pilar to the plug. I like the plug so if/when I get pulled I can unplug it so it doesn't beep when the cop is there and it's not visible like on the dash.
