Hey everyone im new to this site but i have a few questions. I got a 2001 stock civic lx and was wonderng what I should start doing to it first. Not really worried about body kits and the outside, but possibly rims. Which brings the fact im on a budget so if anyone can help out with some websites or anything where i can get some decent prices it would be appreciated.
Thanks ~Jakee~

I say you should start on suspension. then new rims/tires, and if you want, get a CAI or a SRI w/ a new header and catback exhaust. but if you want big HP gains, go with a turbo or a K20a engine swap. I dunno, theres alot of stuff you can do to a civic. but for HP gains ur kinda limited. And use the SEARCH button to find out about products and the pos or neg about them and stuff like that, Trust me, Its your best friend on the site.
Some good website i say are.
Truehonda.com
Robearracing.com
Jdmland.com

i would do this:
Drop: ~$150-$200
Rims: ~$800-$1100 (with tires)
Tint: ~$125
Catback: ~200 (either used here or ebay)-$500 (greddy,apexi rs*r)
Intake (SRI or CAI): ~$30 (ebay)-$300(aem, injen, ect)
Header: ~$300 (you could get the ebay OBX header but it will break)
ok, now this why i said to do it like this. drop first cause rims on a civic without a drop looks like a 4x4 but even if you are tuckin your stock hubcaps it looks better. rims after the drop for the reason above. then tint cause our cars look pretty pimp when they are tinted. and its a cheap mod for after you drop hundreds on the rims. catback next, i said either ebay or name brand. reason being they dont do **** for our cars but make a sound. so why spend the extra money. same with the intake. i got an ebay CAI for 35 bucks it gives the same HP gains as the AEM CAI. header if you want it, still no real hp gain. but i say either the DC Sport one or the Kamakzi (sp?) cause they are both made very well. the OBX is cheap and could crack from the heat.
if this was helpful rep me.

I have the exact same car and was wondering the same thing, as to what to start with. I have noticed(or I may be crazy) my 1998 honda civic LX engine seemed to pickup a lot more in the hp arena of the car. I miss it so. The 2001 does not seem as strong on the hp department at all. Will K20a engine really give me more hp. How many of you guys hae done the conversion? Cause i just dropped about 9k into buying the car and i have looked online and the K20a is going to cost 5k+. Dropping my car is kind of scary especially cause of LA roads are so F##ked. I kind of like the trunk look (only with certain rims).
