SHould I buy this k20a type r??
mounts = 500
kpro = 1000
various other parts = 1500-2000 depending how good of a deal you find
add that to the price of labor which will probably be around 2000.
you're easily looking at 4000-5000 aside from the cost of the engine.
good luck with it if you decide to do it, chances are they wont install it for you.
if you're in a budget install it yourself. that's what i'm doing, and going to save 2k from it. local shops have quoted me 2k for labor

Well some guy he knows will install for $800 but I have to supply all parts for it.
He said I need a type s subframe, base rsx axels with half shaft.
Question!!!
My car i bought for 9000$ . IS it worth spending this extra $6-10 thousand dollars on upgrading my civic? Or should I use this money and buy another car? And if so what????

I traded my vic in for the k20a2 in the damn car, i hated to do it but i didnt think it was worth the swap cost. I might put a civic fron clip on it to make people look twice because I hate the headlights on the 04 type s. If you are going to swap, a K24 out of the TSX with a k20a2 head
If I was going to swap, yes make sure to get the vtec version, think it comes out of the tl/tsx something, and put the Vtec head off a k20 motor on that. You will be set, minus a new hood, tall as hell
some people dont think the swap is worth the price, so they do the easy way out and get a dc5, which IMO isn't worth the extra money + insurance hike.
you don't see many people swapping a k20 into an em2, at least not in my area. so i rather have a k20 em2 then have a k20 dc5.
plus i think the em2 looks better.

Now Im thinking just to turbo charge it. I think this will be cheaper. Although the k20 sounds like the better way to go, Ive heard people regreting the swap.
Right now my mind is on turbo, becuase of the money.

Your in houston right? And if your serious about doing a K-swap... Give my boy Brandon a ring over at Speed Fetish Performance they did my origanal swap, and just finished doing my buddes 02 4dr with an A3 and a turbo. Tell him Glen sent you his way. And he should hook you up! *not to mention if you want to do a type R swap, they can get you a whole front clip fro fairly cheep. hint hint
.
. you say spend your money wisely, this is probably repeated somewhere but i'm going to ask anyway since i'm looking to swap and am just getting into researching pricing and such... what are suggestions for spending money wisely while swapping to a k20 or k24 or frankenstein or whatever (possibly good sticky?)

There is a K20A2 from an 02 RSX on EGay
