protecting cloth... your input please

protecting cloth... your input please
is there any kind of clear spray or bond that i can get that is applied over cloth to harden it, make it non porous, thicker and more durable. (kind of like vinyl). Something that will make it "weather-resistant"

help is appreciated thanks
