Rep Power: 322 Help me settle an argument...
Okay, So I was talking with my uncle, and he claimed that my spoiler didn't come with my car, because I have the rear deck cover brake light and the OEM spoiler light. And all the 7th gens I've seen with spoilers have both. So my question, did ALL 7th gens come with the rear deck brake lights, spoiler or not? And also, was there a option that removed this light if you special ordered the spoiler from the factory?

Rep Power: 296 ALL 7th gens came with a rear deck lid light / third brake light.
Usually when the dealer installs the spoiler, the spoiler light takes place of the third brake light, so you are left with a non working third brake light.

Rep Power: 322 That what I thought, because every 7thgen I'd seen, coupe or sedan, spoiler or not, had that light. He tried to say that if you special ordered the spoiler, they would take it off, because that was what they told him when he bought his 99 Accord brand new.

Rep Power: 0 Yep, they come with the third brake light spoilerless or not, all 4 of my lights light up when i brake, but its unncessary to have 4, so i pulled the bulb outta the third brake light and just used the spoiler

Rep Power: 0 4 brake lights is normal for a civic with a spoiler in most cases... the spoilers are all dealer installed options so the car arrives at the dealership with 3brake lights - 2 taillights and the 3rd brake light in the rear window. The dealership will install the spoiler with the fourth light.. There is one case however that the car will only have 3 brake lights with the spoiler.... the 2005 Special Edition is the only Em2 I am aware of that had a FACTORY installed spoiler... for this car there is a blackout over the normal 3rd brake light housing in the rear window..

As long as the brake lights on the spoiler light and the ones on the deck don't then it at least was installed properly.
The ones on the deck are always there though. My car did come with the spoiler and I still have the ones on the deck. They just don't light (the plug for the 3rd light is unplugged for the deck and plugged into the spoiler's plug.)
I also removed the red plastic thing on the deck, basically the entire 3rd brake light assembly on deck. Less rattles.

Rep Power: 322 Yeah, I unplugged the one from the rear deck. I got tired of it, I thought it looked horrible from behind. Eventually, I'll get adventerous enough and remove the deck and eliminate that light and then fiberglass over it.

Hmm, Maybe I could fit it with acrylic and then put neons under it. Oh yeah, that'd be pimperish! Ha...No, I don't like neons. I just think it looks tacky with 4 brake lights. I've even had a couple people tell me it's not working, and I say, no, It looked ghey. I unplugged it, now gtfo

Rep Power: 0 the housing is still there in all cars however what I'm referring to is in my car a 2005 SE coupe there is no light in the housing, it is empty and there is a blackout in the rear windshield that covers it up.. therefor it came from the factory without the standars 3rd brake light in the rear window..
