First System (Pics Inside)
Well I have been piecing this system for the last four months off of my favorite store... Ebay! Finally installed it this last Saturday and took 8hrs to do. I wanted something that would sound good and keep my trunk functional and could use my spare tire.
First I never had a system before and just new the basics on Car Audio so I didn't know barely anything. But after this project I knew a little bit more. And no I didn't do the install... I wish I could take credit for it.
But at the end it sounds great. And with all the Dyno-Mat nothing rattles and keeps all the sound on the inside. I turned on the car and my friends got in and I stayed out and you can hear just a little bit of the music and feel some of the bass. But when they opened the door it was like a night club on the inside. lol
But just tell me what you think about my first setup. I will go with something nicer and more show down the line but it okay for now. All comments and opinions are welcomed. Sorry about that one blury pic. Enjoy….

I remember one of the first tuning mags I ever bought had a red Celica that had its fifth wheel sunk into the floor with a nice system and I've loved that kind of thing ever since. The sub enclosure looks awesome, too, by the way. But aren't you worried about having a functional trunk with the rim unprotected like that? Unless you drive around like a grandma, whatever is in your trunk is gonna whack the hell out of that rim.
he he..first I though the wheel was like a custom speaker or something.
Very nice first set up man, still have lots of space in the trunk. Is that a 12 or a 15?

Thanks for all the complements guys!
Thanks. It’s just a start (wiring), since it’s my first. But from here on it should be improving.
lol. I bought it for $125 shipped off of Ebay used. It is in a way custom… It’s the JL Stealth box. Just the box alone cost brand new anywhere around $300 to $500 new.
I am all about the fifth wheel… I hate donuts tires! I had my donut spare for about 6th months before getting the fifth wheel with my first set of rims. See…

No sub under there… Even tho that would be pretty neat.
That enclosure is a JL Stealth box and is made of fiberglass then carpeted for that clean look.
Cost on everything was:
Mono Channel JL AMP: $125 shipped (Used for two months) (7thgencivic.com) Retail New – $399.96
6 Channel JL AMP: $175 shipped (display item at a store) (EBay) Retail New - $399.95
JL Stealth box: $125 shipped (Used about a year and half) (EBay) Retail New - $399.99
12” JL Sub: $95 Shipped (Used for two weeks) (EBay) Retail New – $229.96
Installation: $450 included tax (Wires, Material, and Labor) CarToys - $750.00
My Total = $970
CarToys Total = $2,179.86
It’s all about waiting for a bargain. Took me six months to put together and as much as I wanted just to throw it all together without not doing it right and waiting for a bargain, I didn’t. It pays off as you can see.
