go if you can like they mentioned in the above, but buddy, Phil, of mine has the swap and it's great! youll love regardless more than your D17! fo'sho but you got a great band of possible tuning capabilities to go with as for the D series. a K series is far more tunable than the economy D17. if you get you got the D17 beat stock justa few lil mods will get you over the top

K20A3's can go around 1-4k depending on whos selling, mileage, condition etc...the K20A2 goes around $3-5k and the K20A DC5R engine goes for 4-7k

YAY! they can be had dirt cheap. don't forget boost the biatch! I paid $1400CDN for my k20a3 w/tranny and ECU with ONLY 180kms. Not even broken in.

The A3 isn't all bad, if you can get one for cheap...go for it. Then take the savings and pump it into some FI, with just enough luck maybe you'll wind up even with swapping in a K20A2, if you do enough of your own labour anyways.

See if you can get one from a Civic Si(SiR if Cdn) vs from a base RSX, I'm told that the gearing on the Civic one is a bit more aggressive.

depends on what ur going. k20a3's love boost while k20a2's its harder to turbocharge them. but if your going sc, then save up for a k20a2.

yes, you can put an a2 head on an a3. but you're still stuck with the shitty a3 block and shitty a3 tranny.

heres a thought. k24 block with k20 head. its been done. k24 is cheaper too. you could build it up. just a thought
