Rep Power: 787 well an adjuster comes out from nsurance and does an appraisal and cuts you a check. He gives it to you and says go take the paper to a body shop. The body shop does the work according to the paper, and if necessary charges any extra cost to the insurance. Then at the end you give the check to the bodyshop.

Rep Power: 0 Why would you go through insurance for something so small? Its not like she bent your frame or anything. I'd do it outside of insurance, because they're going to wind up raising both of your premiums for more than its worth.
If I recall correctly, new bumper/paint was about $862 CDN, so you do the conversion. Hopefully they can retouch that rear panel somehow, if not, price could go up. I'd seriously avoid insurance for this though, its not worth it.

Rep Power: 296 yeah screw that...go through insurance man. Thats why people have insurance for things like that. If you get a new bumper from honda it'll probably cost like $400 alone. Plus painting and stuff so it'll probably be close to what other people have mentioned about $1k.

Rep Power: 231 depends on where you go...someonebacked up into my bumper last year and only scrapped it. i took it to toyota and they charged me $400 just to prep repaint and blend it in. the paint job was a lifetime warranty plus they're dupont certified. the quarter panel alone will probly run you $200-$300 already, the rear bumper and works + labor will probly run you another $400-$500, so you're lokking at about $800-$1000 at a quality shop. i didn't go through insurance though, cause the guy that hit me agreed to pay the estimated value.

Rep Power: 0 Hey man, don't fret. I just got into a minor accident a few weeks ago. Some girl hits me from behind in bumper to bumper traffic. Anyways, to make long story short, I made her buy me a new bumper on ebay. Painted too. It costs $205 and you can def put it on yourself. Keep your head cool. If you have questions, PM me

Rep Power: 0 U can get a bumper off of ebay for like 60 bucks and painted for like 300 to 500 from maaco. Just charge her like 700 so whatever us left over is your pain and suffering.

Rep Power: 0 He's the claimant , his insurance isn't even involved in handling the claim, so don't worry about your rates going up. Do not settle for a quick pay by the adjuster (Progressive is the worst) , they lowball the estimate because a lot of peeps just take the money and never get their car fixed. Go to a quality shop, one that you feel comfortable with and have them write you an estimate to R&I your bumper, repair and paint your bumper and quarter panel. Tell the adjuster that you want YOUR shop to fix it and have them inspect it at the shop. You need someone on your side to make sure it will get fixed to pre-loss condition, the adjuster is not on your side, remember that. He just wants to settle the claim with you as cheap as possible, sometimes including sending you to one of THEIR shops where they have prearranged aggreements as far as discounts and other concessions. Find a shop who works for YOU not THEM and make them pay to fix it right.
This advice applies to all of you guys, little accident or big wreck. I see too many of you young men get taken advantage of by adjusters who lack the integrity to let you know your rights and just try to save their companies money. If you're not familiar with the claims processs they will shortpay you, and your car's repairs will suffer because of it.
