A car that you drive in a climate where there is a ton of snow and a **** load of salt are added to the roads during winter...
There for you can beat up that car and have no care of doing so..
My civic will be sleeping in a heated garage...
But I have to say that this tercel is new so i guess i wont beat on it tooo much ..lollll

Hmm.. I guess I'm lucky that it doesn't snow in Georgia. I don't need a winter beater. If they salt the roads, it's like twice a year, and I'll just make sure I spray the wheels, and everything off really good.

well since it's a beater you might want to lift it and put mudding tires on it you know to get through those rough spots. then later on put brush guards and the works.
no but really nice bitch(a car you can ride hard in).

Would you like to crash your beaufitul EM with a tree, knowing you started stopping 45 feet away from it, and that you were driving at 15 mph?
I wouldn't like that, either...

OMG ..You guys ae lucky SOB's man...
See at minus 40 degrees even if yu put salt it wont affect black ice or very snowy roads..
Down here they mix salt and sand with some very small crushed stones..
imagine the dammage our cars get..
anyways salt reacts at a certain temperature and melts ice and snow fairly well but also eats out a cars body panels

Vehicles will rust in no time at all when driven in the crap we have, with all the salt and crap. Sand is much better, when I bought my pickup, it was used and used in a part of NY that uses sand, I bought it a year old, no rust at all. As soon as I start driving it through our salt infested roads, signs of rust on the control arms start to appear, rear diff, etc. I dont want my brand new Civic subject to that. They have a rusting problem as is up here, right behind the rear wheels
That is what my JEEP is for. Its get pretty nasty in the Maritimes with snow and they don't keep the roads cleared very well. The jeep isn't a daily driver so when I want to go out when it storms I CAN ! The poor civic wouldn't like the salt & snow banks
