Winter Side skirts???

I live in Wisconsin, and i bought a body kit for my 04 EX, but i want to be able to take everything off in the winter time so it does not get effected by all the salt and junk on the road during the wonderful winter driving. The front and rear bumbers are no big deal to take on and off, but i want to know how to be able to take the side skirts on and off with out having to keep using the addhesive. thanks for any help you can give me.

Only advice I can give is they're called BUMPERS. For some reason, only on 7thgencivic.com do I constantly see them called bumbers. Ok, sorry, not meant at you, just your thread is the one that gets to hear it. As for the winter adjustments, since you live in a northern state, your winter is way longer than summer so I'd recommend just leave them on and take care of them. Plenty of clearcoats when you get them painted and the elements shouldn't be too much of an issue.

move to california =). No snow to worry about unless you want to drive up to the mountains to go visit for a day lol.

But on a series note. You'll probably wear out your side skirts more by constantly taking them off and on. Rather just keeping it waxed. You are going to have to put the adhesive off and put it back on later. Most side skirts are designed to be put on once or twice then stay there permanently.

Also depends on the type of side skirt you have. I have the Kaminari and the little hole peice sticks out and took a beating from little gravel and stones (sand). So if your sideskirts are flush and dont jut out at all to meet any road debris at a 90 degree angle then I'd say leave ' em on.

I take it off once a year in the summer and clean under there. Then I clay bar, paint cleaner, polish, and wax it. Then I put it right back on. I use the 3M molding tape. It's red and grey and those are the only things holding my skirts up during a snow beating and three screws. Two in the front and one in the back. I drive my car everyday in the snow even during blizzards to work and school. I even take it out on an occasional snow drift in empty parking lots for fun. You'll be fine!
