I got permission from the Wifey to upgrade to a new car in a year. Here are my options:
1. Mitsubishi EVO
2. Infiniti G35
3. 2006 Honda Civic Si

That is an awesome video, but you gotta remember that the EVO in that video is not a USDM version so I wont get the performance that you see in that video in a US version EVO.

Rep Power: 0 I chose G35... because it's the obvious choice compared to the others, as it has style, luxury and speed. Although, if it were up to me I'd just bite the bullet and get the used M3 like a few others have talked about. Seriously now, just take the normal safety precautions and have the car checked out thoroughly before-hand, and you're set. For the money, the M3 is probably the best buy. Make sure you get the SMG tranny, though... *cough cough*
Oh, and it has a I6, not a V6. And, yes, the new M5 has a V10.
Edit: Just wanted to throw in that I've only owned 3 cars, thus far, in my lifetime... a '02 Firebird V6, a '97 Z3 2.8, and a '01 Civic EX. The Z3 and Civic were both bought used. So, personally, I don't see anything wrong with used cars.

Rep Power: 0 I voted for the G35 before reading any of the posts. Then I watched the TopGear video. And even though the EVO is a beast for performance, I'd take the G35 still as it is an overall great car. It looks luxurious and sporty at the same time and I think it will provide adequate performance for someone looking to have some fun.
Go with the G35.

Rep Power: 296 I like them all but what exactly are you looking for? Comfort, speed, luxury. I for one would go with the EVO8, are you planning to do aftermarket mods? G35 is sexy but the EVO is AWD, need i say more. Civic Si, NO, don't like the body at all compared to the others.

Rep Power: 293 Alright let me get straight to the point..
If you want a car to drive the **** out of through the canyons or at auto x, or at the track.. Get the EVO 8 MR
The evo 8 is the most bang for the buck performance wise out of all these cars. Go for the MR
if you want something that you can slap dubs on or body kit to your delight..sound system etc I would go for the G35.
I think the G35 is best for you honestly.. Its a good daily driver.
civic 2006 nahh man you have moved up in the world.. grab the evo or the g35..
My advise do not get a BMW used.. Unless you egt it through a dealer with a long *** warranty! those things break and its hella expensive to replace parts.
Also if your going to shop used wes... Look around for a c5 convertible or a (c5 corvette) they should run you between 34 and 38k
Corvette would be the best BANG/Looks/Performance for the buck out of every car you mentioned.

possibilities !!
