VP? is it worth it?
VP? is it worth it?
Man... the value package... it's horrendous!!!! well it aint bad. i've been doing minor mods to the car (05' coupe) and i wanna know your oppinion... is it worth modding anymore? i've got pics in my profile.. its a 05 coupe vp, at, its still under 4000 miles, got about $10,000 left on the loan. It almost seems like it's the EXACT opposite of what i really want. i wanted at least an Lx. but Manual tranny, its way better than Auto..
Would it be worth the price to swap tranny or should i just pay it off and trade it for following model civics?
Can Anyone name ALL the parts i mean DOWN TO THE VERY LAST BOLT, well not THAT detailed, necessary for a transmission swap? what do you think it might cost? i would really appreciate and advice. thanks

vp is the same as the dx minus power windows/locks and it doesnt have a tach...
why not just trade in the car for a different one? the resale value is really good

i can tell you havent driven a civic long... if your content for trading "up" to another 100hp car that might see 130 with a few k in mods, use the kickass resale value to get somthing that wont just depreciate in value and go slow. if you purchase a good condition FD, 300zxTT, mkIV supra, 3000gtvr4 or the like and keep it in that condition the value wont even drop... **** some of those cars are appreciating in value. personaly at the end of this year im selling for a 95 300zx TT, 500 bhp for the same price as mabie 170 flywheel hp in a vic.not to knock anyone but if your just looking for performance your looking the wrong way, unless your just looking for a challenge = )
hehe... i understand tha vics dont get up n go when it comes to hp, but its still a great value car... n i like the look of em.. trust me i ain't gon be a hard core performance guy either. i just like tha civic...
i've considered other cars... evo VIII, skyline, all them other mind-blowing high potential cars. but where im from, there really is no point. nobody here is into racing... so i at least like a LITTLE challenge with a "not-so-fast" civic... haha.

i love my civic, and personally im trying to get as much power outta mine as i can. the price tag on some of those other cars are just outraegous for me. only make 13k a year so there not a whole lot i can do. i still wouldnt trade it in for a faster car. insurance is already too high as it is lol
you kno that brings a good point... .i make payments of 240 on my car and an INSANE EFFIN PAYMENT on insurance with PROGRESSIVE for 376 a month A MOTHAF*Ckin month!!! with all that im WASTIng on insurance... i could have paid off this car after 1 year..
although i DO love look of 3000 GT... Civics will last generations man, blue book values last a longtime and its very popular... you know they even made a website... i forgot what its called.. lol. but really i do love those other cars.. im just being realistic, and aware of my present situation. that money pretty much controls how fast you can go haha.

i kno man... im 18, brand new car got my license like a month after my birthday... and it must be because its a NEW car. 05' 2 door coupe "honda civic" like the damn fast and the furious movie... i swear after that movie came out, insurance companies jacked up prices....
I have pretty much a perfect record so far.
the real reason i think is that its POTENTIAL to cost a lot in damage repairs, along with "statistics" of 18 year old drivers... and they really like to make a HUGE profit off guys like me... BAST@RDS!!!!

is anyone gonna just answer his questions but besides the transmissions the other obvious things are, center console, pedals, shifter, not sure what else, i have no clue how hard it would be to change transmissions out, does anyone?

But I agree completely on the depreciation values, and sheit, just gas mileage/price without having to get premium gas is worth it (gas is rising and who knows when it'll come down and/or where it'll temporarily peak at). Plus, with Civics and hondas in general there's so many aftermarket parts, and the prices of the parts are considerably less than 3KGTs, and many of those other beasts..
But, all in all, after the initial shock of losing that ~300 horsies, AWD, and TT, I think for the most part I am happy with my purchase/change. It'll just take some more time to get used to
