I painted My rims. What Do YOU Think?
I painted my wheels about two weeks ago and i cant decide if i like them or not. I need your opinions so i can decide if i will paint the other ones.

That was my plan but the paint came out way darker than i thought. I'm painting them again this weekend.

2blu how what was the process you used for painting your rims? I know another member did it, and I wanted to know how you did it. I think i might do it to my rims as well.

How long will that paint last? I wanted to paint mine too, but I'm afraid they'll start shipping off. Some one suggested powder coating...what do you say?

for some reason i like the unpainted side,,,the painted side makes the rims look smaller to me....what size rims are those 16 or 17"??

I used the duplicolor paint. It has held up Through a few washes, and storms.

First I cleaned and sanded the wheel. The primer and sanded. I used 4 coats of color, and 5 coats of clear. I had never painted anything, so i think it came out good.

The wheels are 17's. They look small cuz the spokes start so far from the rim.

Personally, I have had good luck with powder coated. Alittle more expensive, but better protection and harder shell cause it's baked (NOT FRIED! ) Sorry, bad humor. Seriously tho, if you want a good hard paint, go powder. It'll last longer. Wet paint on rims only normally lasts 1 year, unless you drive on roads with NO rocks at all, and no rain.
