What to do??
I have a 2001 civic ex 4 door. I bought it for $11,000. Should I buy a turbo for the D17? Should I swap the k20a2 in the body? Or should I sell my car for around $10,000 and buy a new car? What to do? help me out please.

well if you sell it for $10,000 how much more money are you willing to throw in for a new car?
as for swap or turbo, swap if you have the funds for it.

He brings up a good point...what are you going to buy with the 10k? A better car? If the car is going to end up being something with more potential then go for it. Otherwise I'd say throw a k20a or k20a2 into that sucker.

I have $1300.00 in the bank, and I would take out a loan if I bought a new car. If I was going to swap for the k20, I would only do the swap. If I would get a turbo it, I would build it custom for around $1500.00 I have $1300.00 cash right now though.

you need to give out more info of what you're looking for. what kind of car are you looking at? does it out weigh a civic with swap/turbo?
also, is your civic paid off fully? because you also have to remember that if you owe $5,000 on the car, and say you sale/trade in for $9,000, thats only $4,000 in your pocket + whatever else you have in the bank.

stick with the civic.
ummm...i'm not sure about a k20 swap being faster or slower than a turboed d17. you might wanna ask in Forced Induction and Swaps...

i do know that once you turbo a d17 thats pretty much as fast as it gets. if you swap, there is so much further that you can go with the engine.
k20.. especially if your car is automatic.. much more potential.. a k20a3 would be slower then a turbo d17 (depending on psi).. untuned at low psi, it might be close, however it will still beat a stock k20a3

if the car is paid off then take the car to the dealership, save up like 2-3k for a down payment, and you will have a nice chunk to put down on a brand new car, not to mention having a good trade in and a good down payment will give you more options for higher priced cars
