Window Tint Question
Hey, im thinking about tinting my windows but dont know how much to tint. I have a black coupe. Im thinking of either 5%, 10%, or 15% all around. I want it dark enough that you can hardly see me from outside.
well jsut to put things in perspective for you, 5% is limo tint, 10% all around should be coo,(if your not worried about cops) 15% you'll be able to see somewhat inside but at night itll be dark. one of my friends got 10%in the front and 5% in the back and my cousin has 5% all around. both of them got tint tickets in L.A. but after about a yr. it all depends on your luck when it comes to cops a lot of them dont care.
all in all I say go with the 10% or if you just dnt care and want to go all out go with the 5% and be like him...
<----gangsta with it
thats my understanding of tint, if im wrong feel free to correct me

I Think I Went 35%, Yeah, 35% All The Way Around Including My Windshield And I Must Say It Looks Sick, Especially In Overcast Cloudy Weather It Looks Dark. I Wanted To Be A Little Different So I Went Considerably Light All The Way Around Instead Of Dark In The Back And Light In The Front. Cops Dont Hassle Me But If I Really Didn't Care I Would Have Limo All The Way Around Including My Windshield. I Get A Lot Of Props On The Windshield. Gotta Go The Whole Nine Yards. I Hate To Mention It But Ya Kinda Gotta Consider The Fact That You May Find Yourself In Bad Weather At Night And Do You Really Want It To Dark? Do What You Wanna Do. Even Consider That Mirror Lexus Tint.
20% all around is good enough, but 15% if your not worrying about getting hassled or dont have good vision. if you drive in reverse to back out of darken areas, i'd consider doing a lighter tint on your rear windshield as a safety hazard.

well, 35% is garbage, no offense. i had 35% and you see right through them. i changed the to 20% all around and they are very nice. in the day, they look nice although you can see inside but at night it's perfect for what you want. they can't truly see you when it's night time. i like to bring down my window if a cop rolls next to me. i believe they don't care as long as they see inside ur car. 35% is leagal but anything lower is a no no but hey, like typerdreamer said if u wanna be gangsta and try ur luck, then go 5%. then no one will see u picking ur nose even during the day which trust me, cops notice. also, the interior of ur car helps like if u have black interior, the 35% will look darker than 35's in an interior thats creame color. i say go for 20%.
PS-tinting the front windshield is a SURE ticket!!!!!!!!!!! don't try it cuz i did and the ticket wasn't cheap.

Go with 5% tint and if you know a doctor really good have them write you up a prescription saying that you need dark tint because your eyes are sensitive to light. Thats what my friend did and everytime he got pulled over he gave them the prescription note. Cops let him go with no ticket.
^i think same goes with kazier or other medical places (hospitals). but if you dont got connections, it may be rough to get a prescription.
DWI is right, 35% tint is garbage. it may be ideal for rear windshield only for safey purposes but never on driver and passenger door windows.
