I don't know if you can really call the auto version quick. I'm sure it'll beat the crap out of a civic, but one of my good friends has one (auto), and I've been in it numerous times, but its not all that fast. I really like the interior though, and the gauges.

Coming from a V6 Mazda 6, I can say the pick-up is no where near the same. But for being a 4 cylinder, I'm very pleased. Love the car so far.

As for mods, the only thing I'm planning on doing is the OEM lip kit, and maybe the A-Spec Suspension. I only say that one, because there is a package that Acura sells, and it would be under warranty. Not saying I would buy it through the dealer.
