Rep Power: 287 windshield washer fluid DIY
CaucasianAsian told me to post it.. and im drunk.. so blame him
so the other day i was doing my airhorn install (just like the diy.. sorta.. i didnt have any butt connectors so i had to solder everything.. then it snowed.. so for now its an electrical tape mess)
anyway.. i noticed that my washerflud was low.. so i took pics of me adding more fluid
so incase you wanted to know where the fluid comes from.. heres where the resrvoir is located (drivers side behind the bumper cover)
if you lift the hood you will should see a blue cap
this is a closeup of the cap so you can see the grafic of a windshield
you will need a bottle of washerfluid.. "why not just use water" you ask.. well.. you can.. and it will work fine in the summer.. but once it gets cold out the lines will freeze which will burn out the pump and cost you a bunch of money to repair... so $2 for washerfluid is a good investment.. i use the premixed kind.. in general.. this is what the bottle looks like... the blue liquid is a dead give away..
when you open the bottle you will notice that it has a foil seal.. most people will want to just rip the whole thing open.. however that is a bad idea.. chances are you will not have a funnel handy.. so having a big hole is a bad thing cuz the fluid will come out fast and do the whole "glug glug" thing causing it to go everywhere.. you should just make a small slip or tear like this
pop the blue cover off.. you will notice that it has a big stick hanging out the bottom.. you may be tempted to pull it all the way out and then fumble for a place to keep it.. however ive found its much easyer to just hook it on the cables inside the engine bay like so...
add fluid till it looks nice and full like this..
out both covers back on and close the hood.. congrats you just added more windshield washer fluid..
yes i know the engine bay is dirty.. its winter.. these things happen..
feel free to rep me...

Rep Power: 0 ^^^ See thats the hard part...What I did was I ran compressor line to underneath the hood latch and cranked the PSI up as high as a could and launched a potato at it. Then I took a jigsaw to where the cap was roughly and cut it out. Thats the quickest and easiest way to get to it!
