Rep Power: 399 Drive carefully guys...
I put my car in a ditch this morning, through no fault of anyones really. I was doing between 45 and 50 (in a 55) when I hit a slick spot and lost control. I fought the rear end three times and almost saved it, unfortunately I ran out of pavement. I went down and back up and slid in the muck for at least 75 feet before coming to rest at the bottom of a railroad embankment. I'm glad that I do know how to drive, because I was able to put the car in front end first. This would have been much worse backwards, and I'm fairly confident the car would have rolled over if I hit the mud sideways. So I'm fortunate for what racing has taught me. As far as the damage goes, I'm not completely sure right now. I know it won't be officially totalled, but I'm going to be the one making the call as to whether I keep the car or not. I need to get the mud and **** off the car and get a better look.
As of now: Front and rear bumpers, a new exhaust (the pipe basically impailed the canister when it bent), the drivers side rocker panel, a new windshield washer bottle/pump thing, and probably a new front splash guard. This is all before I get under the car and look for whats causing the real bad vibration in the front and look for any more under car damage.
The good news is that the engine, the cooling system and the transmission are uninjured.
My hope is that nothing major got bent or broken and the car can be returned to a raceable condition.
Be safe guys.

Rep Power: 399 Insurance will probably cover it... the question is will I let them cover it. I already know the exhaust is on me. So far my guess is at least $1800 before I go looking for hidden things.

Rep Power: 314 it doesnt look that bad.
why even talk about it being totaled? I highly doubt your insurance carrier would turn it over as totalled.... but then again, it all depends.

Rep Power: 258 A good reminder that anyone and any car can be in an accident. And, he's probably not going to want a kit or any extra weight on his car because he races. Glad you're ok Boiler

Rep Power: 346 The vibration under the car is probably caused by the exhaust. The piping somewhere has bent and its rubbing/hitting against something causing the car to vibrate.
Anyways, that sucks man... hope everything works out for ya.
