I had a little oopsie in my car about a week and a half ago. What a way to start my vacation, huh?
See some more pictures here.
Here's the story ...
Buddy and I were on the way to go see The Killers at a local venue. He was a little drunk before we even left, so he was acting all goofy on the ride to the show. Well, we get in a turn lane to go to the venue, and are stopped because of a red light. He starts saying something and acting a little goofy, so I look over to see what he's doing. Out of the corner of my eye, I see that car in front of me start rolling, like the light changed. Take my foot off the brake and give it a little gas. Didn't notice she stopped, so I hit her. Wasn't bad. About 10mph into the back end of a Jeep Cherokee. She didn't get much damage, other than a few paint scuffs on her bumper. I took all of the damage, as you can see. I broke the bumper, grill and headlights. Bent the hinges and latch for the hood. Shoved the radiator and AC condensor back a bit. Worst part is that I crumpled the radiator crossmember and the supports for it. That's gonna be the most expensive part to fix. I have yet to take it to a body shop to get estimates, but I'm gonna guesstimate at about $1500 to fix. I've got 2 sets of headlights and my stock grill, so I'm not worried about that. Hood is in good condition, other than a few ripples in it. So all I really need to do is get new hinges, that radiator support fixed and a new bumper. I'm going to try and do this all out of pocket, because of a speeding ticket I got about a month prior.
What do you guys think? How hard is it going to be to get the crossmember fixed? That's my main concern. Other than that, everything is fine. I'll probably end up getting an aftermarket bumper, either the R33 or a BC2. CF hood will come later I think. Any other opinions?

Rep Power: 0 damn dude. sorry. i know how you feel.
a similar scenario happened to me when i got cut off and the guy jammed on the brakes...
only i hit a lifted pickup truck and when i was braking, i nose dived. the damage was minor to the body, but i sure smashed my engine.

I'm hoping to get it fixed sometime over the winter. It's gonna take me that long to save up or find the money to fix it.
