I think it depends on your insurance if you take it out and happen to be in an accident.

I'd stick with the airbag. It prob didnt go off b/c it wasnt needed. We have smart bags a lot of things are taken into consideration before they will go off. Such as rapid deceleration and weight distribution on your seat. Also you say you were hit hard...were you rear ended?

Nah fvck a new steering wheel man.

OEM parts like an airbag are there for a reason. I really don't see a point in having a 'sporty' steering wheel when you're not going to use it for its proper "use".

You pick ornamentation over safety? I dunno. Then again my air bag (in a different car) saved me. 2 surgeries, over 23 stitches... but have it your way, you bought all of it.

Do it. Get some racing seats, and a 4 point harness and you are not going any where.

You have to be really careful when you do this. I know this doesn't happen a lot, however, if you were in an accident, and were injured because there was no airbag, but the car came equipped with one, your insurance company could drop you because they could claim that it was insurance fraud. That's a little extreme, and I know some of you will think it's BS, but I've read, and heard about it happen. I have no idea if it's true or not, but I just thought that I'd mention it, others may have heard about it as well.

Well, since you don't drive the car THAT much (I think)...I'd say go for it. Otherwise, no.

I took mine out, and just to be fair I disconnected the passenger airbag also. If I go, everyone goes.

Yeah, if you're a dumbass and don't wear a seatbelt, or if you put a child/child sized adult in the front seat, which they explicitly say not to do.

I concur!

Don't wear your seatbelt and take the air bag out, then when you rear end somebody or someone hits you you'll be thrown clear of the accident. Air bags deploy in a fraction of a second and at speeds of 200+ mph. If you don't wear your seatbelt, count on that airbag breaking a few ribs, sternum, hand, wrist, arm, maybe even your neck. If you do wear your seatbelt, the airbag will help you a lot more than a sweet lookin wheel. LEAVE IT LIKE IT IS AND WEAR THE BELT!!!!!

No, I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Haha, alright well I'm no post ***** so I'm not about to get in some little cool "internet battle" with you. Bottom line, I don't drive my car that much so it doesn't bother me that I don't have airbags in my car anymore. Is it safer to leave them in there, of course. If I drove my car daily...most likely I would of left them in there. And I disconnected the passenger airbag b/c I'm installing something around that area and have to take it out. So that is that.

In the end... it's your (the owner's) car and you and whoever else will be driving/riding in it. It doesn't have to be so trivial. Kind of like, 'teaching a child who doesn't want to be taught'. Who cares?

Besides. BlackB and Protot keep showcars.
