Well.. finally decided to trade in my car for a black 2005 WRX + premium and a few other accessories... I'm gonna miss my car, but oh well.. time to move on.. The thing i'm really gonna miss is the 33 MPG.. but the AWD and the 227hp kinda make up for that aspect.
On a related topic.. what are good forums for the WRX? Yukonart?
---
Well, i got it.. all i gotta say is... wow..

got the 05 since they redesigned a few things.. suspension and shifting.. Evo's are nice, but they are not very classy.. not that the WRX is classy, but more so than the EVO. Also, comparing the evo and wrx, wrx is much more refined, still need to go to work and not look like a punk.
Well.. payments go like this
27,800 - Invoice
+25,800 - 05 WRX with premium, boost gauge, armrest ext. auto dim mirror, short throw
+~2000 - Tax, Title, Dest. Charge, etc.
------
-9000 - Trade in
+4500 - Payments left on car
-2500 - Down
= 7000 - Total Down Payment
------
+3.9% for 60 months
=385.66 per month payment. give or take 5 bucks for amortization estimate

24.5k will get you an evo... I still would get an evo over a WRX it just feels better (driving wise). I hate every other mitsu product though!

no pics yet... going to pick it up next week sometime..
24,500? i don't think so bud. That's invoice for a base WRX..
Edmunds Link
Go to edmunds and click on my options and then tell me i'm getting ripped..
Yes the 05's are different, i believe, but don't quote me, they added another synchro to 1st, slightly dif. suspension, different differential, better stereo, and better interior. Forgot what insurance is gonna be, but it wasn't much more than now.. or i should say not enough of a difference for me to not get the WRX

NASIOC.com is your friend. Use the search feature, and all will be revealed.
The 2005s come with a redesigned interior, a new available Crystal Grey Metallic color, heated front seats (with Premium Package) and a few other goodies. This, of course, raises the price over the 2004 model.
Acesfull - ALL WRXs come with a Momo wheel. The 4-spoke in the WRX, the 3-spoke in the STi. . . they're both made my Momo.
Acurastype01 - If you're getting a 2005 Leg GT, then you ARE hot ****. If I didn't already have my STi, I'd be rolling a 2005 Legacy GT wagon at this very moment. They're quick cars, with a derivative of my engine. They're comfy, beautiful, and totally moddable. (And about 5,000 cheaper than my car, too!)

shoulda gotten the STi while you were at it dude...now you have ascended the ranks into the chief rival for my SRT-4
welcome to the turbo sport compact club
evo comments...if you have a shot at an STi for 24.5 k and a similar shot at an EVO, if you pick the EVO you're brainless
1) EVO - can't take it to the office
2) EVO - terrible clutch problems even in the 05, that's why the price is coming down and why they aren't selling too well
3) STi has more people behind it in terms of aftermarket parts...much more opportunity to upgrade it in the future
added to the fact that the STi and the EVO put out almost identical numbers in autocross and the drag strip (stock for stock), these three factors tip the decision heavily in favor of the STi
I mean, come on, if you know a car costs 40k but a dealer is willing to get you one for 15k less than that, don't warning bells start going off in your head?
If the car was so great and in so demand, it would be being sold for HIGHER than sticker price, like the SRT-4...I had to pay fuking 22000 for a 19995 sticker car
.
I'm not saying the EVO isn't an impressive automobile, I'm just saying it's got too much hype and too many mitsu lovers looking for some more juice after the eclipse has died out

FYI for those who care -

2005 IMPREZA: What's New?
Model Line Up-Changes:
For 2005 the main changes to the model line involve the 2.5TS and 2.5RS sedan and sport wagon. For 2005 the base car (sedan and wagon) will be renamed to the 2.5RS. The 2.5RS will replace the existing 2.5TS sedan and wagon as the entry level model for Impreza sedan and wagon, however the level of equipment will remain similar to the 2004 2.5TS. The 2.5RS wagon will have 16" alloy wheels as standard equipment.
There will now also be a 2.5RS "Sport Package" sedan that will offer several of the features of the WRX STi and WRX. This model takes the place of what was the 2004 Impreza 2.5RS. The 2.5RS "Sport Package" Sedan will feature the STi type front bumper with fog light covers, side sill and rear WRX spoiler. It will also offer a leather wrapped steering wheel, aluminum sport pedals, sport seats (WRX type), a center mounted tachometer and an upgraded audio system and a power glass moonroof.
There are several new colors added for 2005:
Crystal Grey (All models except Outback Sport)
Regal Blue (All models except WRX and WRX STi)
Obsidian Black (All models)
Product Feature Changes:
For the 2005 Impreza a number of changes have been implemented to refresh the interior design as well as a few subtle exterior revisions. The interior significantly changed with a new instrument panel, new door trim, new seat fabrics as well as new sun visors and new center console mounted cup holders. New design 3 spoke steering wheels are featured on all models. There is a new audio system for Impreza WRX, STi and 2.5RS with significantly improved audio performance. WRX will also get full automatic climate control. STi receives a new gear selector and standard anti-theft immobilizer system.
There is a new rear bumper for Impreza sedans with a wider rear wheel arch to accommodate a wider tire (from 7.5" to 8.0") on the STi models. New alloy wheels and a new large single tip muffler will be featured on WRX. All 2005 Impreza WRX models will feature new 10 spoke alloy wheels except the Outback Sport which will have a new 7 spoke design.
WRX manual transmission will be equipped with a double cone type synchronizer. All models except WRX switch to a drive by wire, electronically controlled throttle. All models with 4EAT except WRX switch to a new direct control type transmission.
STi will get aerodynamic underbody covers and a new helical limited slip front differential as well as a yaw rate sensor for the DCCD system.
Both WRX and STi receive suspension revisions as well as a new steering rack for improved driving performance.

The sti has better interior but the evos engine and suspension feels better. I know, I have driven them both. It also says about the same in the magazines. Hell top gear agrees with me even and i hate britts.... they always bash the american cars.
In about 3 months the EVO MR will come out and it will blow the STI away. yes I know subaru wont let them beat their STI for long.
EVo also doesnt look like ***, my personal opinion its the better looking of the two. It doesnt have a woobly wing and a really uggle *** hood scoop that screems cheesy.
Also all the colors suck on the car except black and that awesome color yokunart has. yokunart I want your car than again everyone does
.
As for the SRT-4 they arent selling sticker where im at, infact they are selling less...
Now those rsx type S they hold thier value around here like mad.
Personally if I had the money and I wasnt into looks but pure performance I go with a GTO. It comes with a vette engine = many possibilities. However I never buy it because it looks like ***
Price isnt everything remember, look at the corvette for example ample price and one hell of a performance boaster
