S2k or modified civic
alrite guys.. heres the deal today i was faced with a desicion ive been really wanting to make and i think i have come to a conclusion.. i leased my civic for 3 years and around this december i will have one year left.. i decided that after the years i am going to buy out my civic cause i started to modify it and i really like it plus im the first owner and it my first car.. but i always wanted the s2k.. by the time my lease is up i will be 20.. i think im gunna get the s2k then cause my desicion was to either heavily mod my civic like i mean do everything possible or save up all that money and get an s2k wit it.. the only thing killing mydesicion is that getting rid my civic would make me sad b.c it was my first car and i dont wanna give it to a stranger and nvr see it again.. plus i would have to take evrything i ahve on it now off toi sell it.. but a while ago my g/f said that if i ever wanted to get rid of my car she would buy it.. now that made my desicion cause i can see my car everyday and still leave it modified and she would work on it too.. sorry that was soo long but i think in the long run im gunna get the s2k... what do u guys think and wat would u do?

its just a CAR ...and its a CIVIC. just sell it and get an S2k, please dont spend 30 grand on a modified civic.
i regret stocking it all out.. but wen i get the s2k ill probly be happier... so ditch the civic!! my car is also leased but i planned to just buy it and keep it wen it had mods but thenn s2000 would be muchhhh betterrr

Rep Power: 0 the weather is a slight problem and im pretty sure i can afford it cause im saving from now and not modding this car and putting all that money towards an s2k and i will hopefully have two good jobs by 20

If this will be your only car I suggest saving so you can keep both and have the Civ at your disposal. Why ruin the S2000 in a snow storm cuz it's your only car?

i'd suggest you evaluate your life and where you want to be in the not too distant future. are you looking to go to school? get married? have kids?
if it were me and I could afford a $30K car, i could think of better ways to spend it... but i'm all about practicality. I can't see a roadster fitting into my life any time soon -- if ever.

Rep Power: 0 damn yea i kno about the weather but ive always wanted one and i will be in my last year of school but im not sure where i would wanna move to even tho it will prolly be local but i think its a sweet car and i could have a lot of fun with it.. i see some around this area altho im not sure where the people keep em.. or even at that time i could get a daily driver jus for the winter months?i dont really like driving alot of people in my car anyway.. very distracting and dirty haha.. i could have fun with teh s2k

Rep Power: 302 It depends...Cuz If you like Modifying...Go with Civic and do everything as possible as you said...But if you just wanna drive a nice quick Car as stock, get s2000.
I would personally keep VIC and make it faster than s2000

I'm getting a used 2001 s2000 next spring.. will mod it a little bit (Rims,kit,intake,exhaust and some suspension parts) I won't be driving it in the winter (BUt i do have a couple of friends that do drive them in the winter with Blizzaks.. and no problems.. the only problem would be if you ever got into an accident..)
But then again with a heavily modified civic.. you would have to park it in the winter anyways..
I'm getting a s2k b/c I've always wanted a small 2 seater.. and I don't like driving lots ppl around (especially in my civic.. slows it down) ..
But then again i agree with chrisleecool... a faster civic would be sweeter

Rep Power: 0 ight went to the dealer today sat in one and cried.. the car iss sooo freakin sweet.. im def getting it and i think im giving my bro the civy so i will have both with me still.. cause the civ was my first car and i dont really wanna get rid of it.. one ques.. whats a good s2k forum? and the audio controls by the steering if u get an aftermaket HU will they still work if u hook em up or do they only work with the stock HU?
the insurance for my brand new 04 S2K is 200 more for 6 months than my civic...for me that is...no if you put in an aftermarket HU the audio buttons won't work. And once u drive the S2K you won't even wanna go back to a civic...but that's MO (before I get flamed)
For me at age 24, the insurance was the same going from a 2002 WRX to the 2001 S2K... i forget the increase from my civic to the WRX but it wasn't bad from what I remember... but you are younger and insurance depends on a lot of factors, accidents, tickets, etc. so it will all depend really

Rep Power: 0 go with the s2k for sho! .. n sell u civic to ur g.f ... but yeah insurance is a bitch homeboi .. im like the same age as you .. drivin a 4dr EL .. n it's killin meh ... so wateva you decide becareful .. it ain't fun bein in debt or havin to kill yourself tryin to pay for your car n insurance at the same time ...

Rep Power: 0 yea i will be 20 and so far ive hd no accidents or tickets *knock on wood* so i dunno hopefully it wont be that much but i will be saving from now which give me a year and a half.. i have 3 jobs and hopefully i will have even better ones when the time comes around.... hey for anyone with the s2k i saw on the forums that they make something like a hraness where u can use and aftermaket HU with the audio buttons for like 90 bucks... is that tru?.. than x for all the input it def helps alot so far im goin for the s2k and givin my bro the civ cause he wants it really bad haha

answer: Because the insurance would rape me on a month by month basis and I can't afford that right now.
