I have had this hood for 8 months now and dont know what the hell this is? I am waiting untill tomorrow to see if the shop I got it from will warranty it so I can get a new one. apparently this stuff is on the inside. The company that makes it is called PI racing or something like that. This hood is shitty. there are other things wrong with it and that is also why I want another hood. I will get more pics.

Looks like some type of oxidization with the fiber, (if thats possible). Or maybe it's something with your clear coat, but I doubt it. Sorry, no help just guesses to get you started on your investigation... Watch CSI LOL
Well imperfection in the weave is common on carbon fiber hoods. Pretty much every hood out there has an imperfection somewhere, so don't worry, thats normal. If you're not satisfied try an get an exchange. As for the wierd yellowish dull spots, still no clue...

how long do most companies have warranties on there hoods? Also I had to get this hood fitted because it sat lopsided and also would close and they had to mess with the locking mecansism. I should make them pay for new hood pins too.

dead bugs? dried bird poo? something like that? or maybe the person(s) making the hood got a little too excited before they sealed it?

they forgot a clear coat to protect it from discoloration. i know someone with a 04 wrx having the same problem, thats what they forgot. they also forgot to give you some rub on stuff from it happening. this is a prime example why you go with QUALITY cf hoods.

well the only problem with getting a new hood is that the guy from the shop called me and said the warranty on the hood is only 3 months. I am very pissed about that. 3 months is a crappy *** warranty. Oh well what can I do. I put my stock hood back on tonight. Now what to do with this hood.

see I would take that but I would rather sell it here because if you get it and dont like it and have problem, I dont want you getting pissed.

why not keep your hood, paint it the color of your car and keep the weight reduction. The point of a cf hood is for weight reduction, right? sure it looks good without paint, bu thats only looks (unless thats all you want)
