.45 cal for close range, M16 from across the street, and the .50 cal Barrett sniper rifle from the 2nd story window in case they try and run... I love my security system.

Well all the new civics now have the microchip in the key so I don't think you have to really worry about them being stolen as much as they used to be, for the new ones atleast. I personally don't use any of the steering wheel/brake locks because i don't believe anyone is really going to be hot wiring our cars for that reason. I put in some fuel cut switches too just for some added security. One good step to take I think is to also cover your vin number on your dash. Short of someone towing your car to steal it, I think you more have to worry about someone breaking in and taking your system or something like that.

Our cars have been getting jacked lately, despite the anti-theft system.

I would trust that trip as far as I can throw it.....extra security would make me sleep better at night.

.....getting a .45 sounds good to me .

Gearbox made a thread a while back but I forgot what it was called....something like everything you need to know about security systems. He had some great ideas. Search and see if you can find it before I do.

LOL! I'm with you on that one. The tried and tested methods are still the best.

The best is still a manual fuel cutoff. No matter what you do, it's better to loose your radio than the car. The fuel shutoff saved my Truck already.
Thieves tried to keep starting it, and even tried to bumpstart it. They finally gave up. I lost a radio, and a set of locks. But not my truck. EVEN THOUGH they ripped the alarm out! Fuel cuts work.

Believe it or not, i consider the windsheild sunshade to be a theft deterrant device because it is just one extra step that a theft need to do to steal your car.

they also come in other colors like white and yellow. and different designs in case you don't have a traditional steering wheel.

Of course these won't stop all car thefts, but it does help. if the theif spots one of these then the odds he/she will break into your car (to steal it whole) will decrease. It would only be something to annoy a car stealer and give you, any witnesses, or responding cops time to react.

But, it won't stop your car from being broken into for your system or cdplayer. Your best bet for that is to buy an alarm and place the blinking led in a visible place.

That's only good if you can reach past the theif and bash his fvckin brains in... I'll still keep my holster handy...

Also, fuel cutoff switches... and in the really bad areas, quick disconnect grounds for the battery...
