I am considering getting 45 tint for my coupe rear and side/door windows. It looks fairly light on the shelf, but I would like to see it on a coupe first if I can. My primary goal is to reduce the interior heat during the summer (I have the silver/black interior cpe.) and seconday goal is to do it in a way that will not attract the po-po to me. Here in IL, any tint on the door windows is illigal. I just want to see what I'd get if I decide to do it. Hopefully someone can help out.

i have 27% tint according to the louisiana state police.. hehe 160 dollar ticket.. plus a 260 dollar drag racing ticket.. sucks for me . 45% looks real good if u dont do anything stupid it wont attract cops

Man.. $160 is the highest I've ever heard of for a tint ticket. That is just horrible. I wonder if he was just ball busting due to the larger offense?

I also asked about experiences with tint on another messageboard I chat on, and one reply I got was pretty interesting.. A guy said to just take side photos of your car before you apply the tint, that way if you ever get a ticket you can bring the pics to court and show the judge that "it's been removed" and the tickets should get voided. I know going to court sucks ***, but it might be better than paying the ticket, depending on if you need to miss work to attend.

I have 35% all around but I wish I went darker. At night it looks good but during the day in the sun it looks like its barely there.

The tints must be different from what I saw today to what you got. At the shop I visited, they had a Lexus LS430 outside that he claimed was done in 35 all the way around. From 40 feet away it looked very dark, and standing right next to it, I could see inside the car but I doubt I could have picked the driver out of a lineup. To my eyes, 35 looked like the darkest you could get that you could still see into from the outside (if you are standing close).

Now you got me wondering wtf.

This is pretty nice!. You have basically the same car as me. After you added the tint, did it seem to cool down your interior any and allow the AC to cool the car down any better during the day?

What's up, I have 35% all the way around my coupe in
South Carolina that is the legal limit, it looks good and
like my man said it is fairly dark, you can't really make out
the driver even in the day, at night it is very dark, my coupe
is Nighthawk black , with a black interior, if the interior is
dark, especially black , the tint will be even darker...

I have limo tint all the way around, wouldnt have it anyother way. If u dont act like a ricer the cops wont even care. only at night will a cop even think about bugging you, but if it worries u that much just drive around with ur windows down. ha ha

its deffinately nice having it that dark, only sucky part is sometime having to role down the window to back up, but i got used to that really quick

Nobody can complain about car heating until you leave your car in the sun for a couple of hours in Phoenix in July...you have to run AC for 10 minutes before you can touch anything and that is with some dark tint...besides we all know we get the tint for the looks...just go as dark as you "legally" can

I don't have AC and ya it cools things down a bit. I put a front windshield shade when its parked and that helps alot too. But when I drive and the sun is right on me, the tint for sure helps, by not making it so bright and hot.

in louisiana it depends on how much tint you have... the more tint the worse the ticket inLA legal limit is 70% tint

That looks very nice zoom. What is titanium? Obviouly, my first guess is that the film has a titanium looking tint to it, but I can't see it in the picture you posted.

Well, I ended up making an appointment to go in Saturday for 45. I'm going to do the driver/passenger windows also and just see how it goes. If the police do pull me over for it, I will probably just remove the stuff from the doors. Hopefully it aids in keeping the temps under control.
