I might be getting my stolen stuff back
~ Epilogue ~
Last October, I woke up and found my pair of 12" Earthquake subs (in a custom ported box), MTX Amp, Pioneer DEH-P840MP Deck, V-1 Radar Detector, & several not-so-valuable CD's STOLEN. I was not very happy, since this was about $1400 worth of equipment. I filed the police report - the cops didn't even come to take a look or anything - and quickly gave up ever seeing my stuff again. It was a terrible shame
~ 2 Days Ago ~
So I'm out in the driveway changing my oil, since it was like the first nice day in a looooong time. A friend of mine had stopped by and I was helping him - well actually I was doing all the work, since he's pretty dumb - install a new Pioneer deck and 6x9's in his old '68 Mustang. Anyone who's ever tried to wire anything in a car that old probably knows just what a pain in the *** that can be. It was a nightmare. We got it working, about midnight or so, but that's not the point. While I'm in his trunk hooking up the new speakers, this kid - probably only 15 or 16 - rolls up on a skateboard and just kinda hovers a little ways away. Finally he walks up and asks "is that your car?" I poked my head out of the trunk to see him pointing at my civic. I turned to him and hesitantly said "yeah." He paused for a moment, almost like he was afraid of what would happen after what he said next. "I know who took your stuff." At this point I climbed out of the trunk and quickly said "I'm listening."
Over the next few minutes, he explained that he knew who had taken all my stereo and electronics, and gave me the kids name. I'd never met the kid, and he knew pretty accurately exactly what I had in my car, and said it was sitting in this guy's bedroom, and the guy had bragged about stealing it to him before. He knew where the kid lived, but he didn't have the exact address, so he offered to take us there. We drove out to some double-wide trailer - I guess he's doing alright for himself as a petty criminal - and made a note of the address. It turns out that this kid (the one who confronted me) was friends with the thief, up until he had his own stuff stolen from the same person. So he was quite interested to have something done about it, but since he was rather small, and young, he naturally had a fear of being involved, and didn't want the word to get out that he'd ratted on this guy. So anyways yesterday morning I called the police and left a couple messages, first with the officer who had originally handled my case, and then with the cop who this kid had talked to about his stuff being stolen.
I'm sorry to say I'm still waiting to hear back fro them. I have a great respect for cops - most of the time - and I know they're just doing they're job when they pull me over - most of the time. But I'm getting the impression that they just don't do anything when a real crime is committed.
~ Prologue ~
So that's my story, and I'm hoping that something will be done so that I can get my stuff back. If the cops end up being useless, I might just have to get a few friends together and get vigilante on this guy's ***. I mean what's he gonna do - call the cops? Heh heh ...

awesome outcome to finding your stuff...good that you are doing the right way before taking the matters in your own hand. Just remember to be patience, wait till the next for the police to call you back. give them another buzz..after that sorry to say im with you. People who steal sh* is gonna get it hard from me.
heh just want to know, how does it feel when you don't have that
v-1, i let my bro borrow it for the trip and felt real uncomfortable when driving without it. I love that radar, save time and time again.

Oh hell yeah, I've been looking on ebay to replace it, and I've even bid a couple times but barely lost. I was about to just buy a brand new one when this happened, so we'll see ...
I love that detector though, it's soooo awesome. It was a little akward reporting it stolen to the cops though. He asked if I'd gotten any use out of it & I'm like no, I hardly ever speed, heh heh

wow, what a story. Yeah, I would go to his house and demand your stuff back. Bring a couple of people with you, I'm sure he will give it back and get an *** whooping from the parents.
Its a celebration bitches!

Congrats!!!! WIsh it would have worked out that way for me. I disagree about the whole goin to the parents thing. They might side w/ the kid. U were right about goin to the cops. Should have gotten like 5 of your boys to go over there when the kid was at home by himself...could have shown him about theft by "stealing" his little bit(h @ss in the jaw a few times.
Look, You pay for gas money for me to drive up there, I'll walk up and calmly knock on the door and ask if hes home, If indeed he awnsers the door I would be perfectly happy to break his left leg off and beat him nearly to death with it. Then explain to him that he shouldn't steal stuff as I run off with his leg.

lol, go vigilante on his ***, steal your stuff back and when he complains just say you bought it, most stores keep records of that...well the ones here do anyways.

Just remember after you beat him down, take your stuff back and grab his X-Box or whatever gaming system he has lying around.

I was thinking about it the other night, and I remembered that I DJ'ed for the college hockey team at some of their games recently, so they sort of owe me a favor. How cool would that be to have a hockey team walk up & kick the sh¡t outta that kid ...
haha, yeah, except the kid knows where you live too, and you might start a huge feud that never ends...
Hope the police act quickly enough to get your stuff back (don't they have to hold the stolen equipment as evidence for at least a year?)

You are living out my dream. In fact, you are living out everyone's dream who had their stereo stuff jacked. I hope you get it all back, I hate people who do this ****. Good luck, let us know how it turns out.
I wish I knew who jacked my stuff though

Yeah, I talked to the officer the other day and gave him the kid's name and he was like "Oh. That guy. Yeah we already have an ongoing investigation with him."
And if I have to wait a frickin' year to get my stuff back, fúck that - I'll just get a bunch of friends and kick his *** - I so badly want to do that anyways, but I figure it's only fair to at least TRY to give the cops a shot at him first.
I like that "This is mine also" thing though, I might have to try that. Except it will probably turn out to be somebody else's stolen sh¡t and that's no good ...
