~pics~ 2004 CLEARED HEADLIGHTS ***DIY***
hey guys...
my girl- friend...... (not gf....but a friend only)
bought a 2004 ex coupe...
hehehe...
SO! i shaved all the ex and civic, and "south motors" sh.it off....
and i decided to CLEAR THE HEADLIGHTS!
---> Problem...
the orange inserts don't clear, casue if you take them out, there is a big ugly hole, and you can see straight to the other light...ugly sh.it...
------> so we decided to paint it chrome...
THAT DID NOT WORK..... it turned out silver.... but.... IT STILL LOOKS GOOD BABY!
question.... is this the first 2004 with "cleared/painted (inserts) headlights" on this board????
here are some pics.... enjoy...
Mr. Modify.... in your color too!

Wow..seems like mine hasn't been ringing either.
You go to the hangouts anymore?? u know what u can do is what they do to the 6thgen headlamps. they take some aluminum foil and wrap it around the reflector and then put it back. i dunno use glue or whatever u want, but their inserts came out chrome and if u dont wrinkle the foil, it will be sick!
woops! someone said it already but whatever...

i have cleared my boys set from his 2000 civic...
we did just that! ---> put "aluminum tape" on them, and it looked sick!
the problem with the 04 is that the refector is not flat like the 99-00 or like the 01-03.... the 2004 reflector has ridges that come out, and go back in... as you can see in picture #1, trust me i tried the foil thing first, but then i was like FU.CK it.... to much work!
so i painted it silver...
FYI! you must paint both sides of the reflector, cause you will still be able to see orange with the light on if you dont.
AND... dont load it with paint.... do a couple of coats of paint...like 1 coat every 10 minutes..... NO CLEAR COAT!!!!!!!!!!
remember to lightly wet sand it before you paint!
IN ALL!!!!!!!!! it was not that difficult.... same process as the 2001-2003...... (except you dont have to take out that little special screw to take the chrome peice out)....the chrome stays.... just part the headlght with the glass/plastic whatever...and go from there

O2.... just paint it brotha!
DONT BE SCURRED! cause by the time a new headlight comes out....
it's gonna be 2005... and it will cost you a pretty penny...
approx... $300....
this is why just about 75% of the people on this site have DIY cleared lights!
