It's really nothing like riding a bike (like a pedal bike). The only thing that is the same is the fact that both have two wheels and they sorta steer a little bit.
It takes a while to get used to the weight/feel of a cycle. Also, throttle control only comes after miles and miles of riding.
You can usually buy a used 600cc bike, ride it for a year, and then sell it for ALMOST what you paid for it.

Wow Miss Hatchy didn't think anyone would know about Marchesini wheels. Alot of people think I wasted my money on it but eh fvck em.
As for the guy who wanted a gixxer for his first bike...ummm NO...
well my advise anyways...they're not an easy platform to learn on, and not very forgiving. Go Yamaha or Honda.
Crashing sucks guys, but Ride On.

I knew I would never buy a gixxer after just plopping down on a 750. The seat height was pretty good for my short ***, but the angle!!! Good heavens my wrists were getting sore just sitting on the damn machine
Kawasakis are very comfy and forgiving to new riders as well. I was learning on our ZX6r before they found new homes =(

^^^ Typical mistake of new riders. They tend to lean on their wrists, when all of your weight should be in your butt and your feet (on the pegs). I'd be happy to SHOW you how to ride some time

It used to be a great place to organize rides. I usually had some sort of ride every Saturday, Sunday, and at least 3 nights a week (which is how I got my title as "riding *****").
Unless someone was especially stupid, I would pretty much ride with anyone.
