M-3 mirrors installed lookin good!
M-3 mirrors installed lookin good!
Ill throw up some pics tomorrow probably when the car is all washed.
My gf got them off Ebay for $50 never used. I threw them on the other day fairly easy enough. Taking off the door panels was a snap and took very little effort. The hardest part is putting the panel back on and lining it up with the door lock button so it slides on. I found that using a small flathead screwdriver to help it along was good.
Anyways, I did the wiring and instead of running it through the rubber hose for the other wires which I did at first but was a pain in the *** cause afterwards I couldnt get to a firewall opening. So I ran them right down and under the door hinge and then up along the very edge of the fender so that they were tucked in behind metal tabs. Right up to the headlight.
For the wiring I pulled off the bumper and the lights for easier access to the wires. Then spliced in the black wire from the mirrors to the black wire of the turng signal. Then the green wire from the turn signal to the white wire of the mirror. the blue wire for the mirrors is if you want to keep them on all the time with your parking lights in which case they would be wired to the red wire from your turn signal. I crimped them and put silicone on the crimps to seal them. Then closed everything up and they worked fine. They are def. blue and Im not concerned about cops as of yet, passed a few last night with no problem turning.
The outcome is that you def. turn heads and get lots of looks from everyone, their tight! If the cop gives me **** I might switch out the LEDs for white ones, but for now they are cool. It takes a little bit of getting used to the smaller mirror but the glare resistant blue tint on the mirror is incredible.
If anyone is interested Ill post a DIY up but it wont have any pics unfortunately but def. a thorough walkthrough. Let me know.
