They would have to pay someone to paint the mirrors since they are installed after painting. Thus the cost of your american car would be higher, and they can't afford that when they are competing with foreign cars.

man the srt-4 is starting to grow on me. I use to be one of those guys saying it is still a neon. Not anymore. I took one on a test drive and I am in love with it. But I am in love with alot of cars.

on the topic of handling, one of the big car mags compared the Mazdaspeed, SRT and Focus SVT all around. The SRT won in the road course, aside from the other courses as well, but only because it was able to shave time in the straights. It's an inferior car when compared to Mazda's magnificent supsension tuning.
