Put it into Hibernation

Anyone else bummed b/c they had to put their car up for the winter? I had to put it in the garage on Saturday b/c we got a ton of snow.
Worst part was I was fitting it into a 1 car garage with an Accord and a Ninja so worst thing happened...
I backed my car into the garage door twice! I know those damn women drivers you are probably thinking but it took off paint and left a ft long dent!
This really sucks, anyone else as miserable???

For 98% of civic owners, their civic is their daily driver and will be driving all winter. 1% are using their civic as a winter beater while they park their nice car. The final 1% is of course the people who actually hibernate their civics.

I'm one of the 98%...

Put a car up for winter? Are you crazy, I buy cars to enjoy them. Even my dad takes his 500hp mustang out of the garage once in awhile in the winter when there is no snow on the ground. Come on, if you buy it you should use it.

Well considering I have a 100 mile a day commute to school and just got the turbo on this summer,I am garaging it- this is the 1st time I have ever been able to do this. Hard to take a dropped car out w/ a brake upgrade that won't let you put your stock tires and wheels back on it when there is a ton of snow on the ground and a turbo that breaks the tires loose in 1st gear anyways. Need a Jeep or something like that. So I am grateful- long live the winter beaters!

Does cali still have all those awful car taxes? I remember a friend having to pay a ridiculous smog tax for switching his car to a cali regisration, then paying a percentage of it's value every year it came up for registration again. The traffic is apparently the worst on the planet...

I don't know if all that is worth the trade off for no snow.

Naaw... the car tax was repealed the day Ahnold took office. And, yeah, the traffic sucks.

No thanks. You guys can have cali. Too many people. Too much traffic. Too many Cops. And last but not least Too many Emissions.

One thing great about living in Wi, no emissions!

One downfall, winter.

(In reality, Id drive my civic in the winter but around here they use salt on the roads and that just eats a car and spits out a rust bucket. No thanks to that....)

I park my car up for the winter. I love the snow-4 seasons rock here in NH. Skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, I couldn't live w/o winter, even if it means I can't drive my Civic. Screw California!

I'll stay here in TN, with mild winters and reasonable traffic. I'm in that 98% also. Why buy a car if you're not able to drive it all year 'round? We rarely get below freezing here, so there's no need for special snow tires.

The drivers are bad enough here when it rains, but when it snows I'd rather stay home than mix it up with the idiots who can't drive on snow. Some of them get out in their Camaros, Mustangs and light-tailed trucks trying to get around. All they do is end up in the ditch on the side of the road. What a bunch of rednecks. What really cracks me up is the guys in their 4wd trucks that think they can go anywhere and end up getting stuck themselves!

Fvck CALI, fvck snow, move to GA. There's no snow, it hardly ever get's below freezing, no emmisions testing and no having to worry about you car being "illegal" by some odd combination of parts.

if u got a civic thats worth 20 grand after u put stuff in it, do u really need to garage it? around where i live, theres people with mercedes and bmws about 3 times as much as my car and there out driving it in the snow or the suvs that are just as much. I drive mine everyday no matter whether it snows or not and its got a kit on it.

Maybe it was God telling you to not put your car away this season.
Well either way you look at it, is the car worth putting away now since it's scractehd up?

Yes.
Better than salt eating away my car, not being able to make it to classes in the morning and also, it's gonna stay pretty!
